I went to the track with Ryan (Flyry110), Phil96SE, and some of their friends. I ended up having a best time of 16.823 @ 81.75mph. I am very disappointed. I hate my car even more now!! My only mod is a K&N intake, 91 SE motor w/68k miles, & 17" wheels. My old auto max did 16.7 with only cat-back exhaust & 17" wheels. One of my biggest problems at the track was wheel spin. I was spinning too much in 1st & spun a little while going into 2nd. Here is info from my timeslip..

R/T - 1.177
60' - 2.497
330 - 7.044
1/8 - 10.811
MPH - 64.78
1000 - 14.072
1/4 - 16.823
MPH - 81.75

Anyone wanna buy my max??

If it makes you happy..I ran a 17.1@81mph last weekend. Talk about depressing.

The only thing I did to my car before the race was take the spare tire out. I had the air filter in and everything. I was a little cautious about red-lining. I think I shifted about 5500rpms. I didnt power-shift either. I also bogged my first 2 runs...then I finally got the ***** to take off at about 3500rpms. That was my best run, 17.1. My other 2 runs were 17.2 and 17.3!

First, your R/T's suck. Work on that to get closer to .500, perfect! Did you run your 17's on the front? Glad you can afford it! Try running stock wheels and tires if not drag radials and also try lowering air pressure in front tires to increase traction. I think 26psi has been reported as a good tire pressure in the stock wheels. If your gonna run your 17's, they usually need 40-45 psi on the road, maybe 36 psi for the 17's if you're gonna run them! FYI, two cheap drag radials will run around $150 for both, maybe more, but much cheaper than 17's!

i was runnin with him! we only got to race once though. it was cool lining up with another 3rd gen. i was runnin 15.4's all night long in a bone stock max. i ran one 16.1 (i thought the 1000 foot line was the finish line and got off the gas), and one 15.8, and the other 4 were 15.4's. i felt so bad for nevin. he was so discouraged. i'm so glad i've got a VE!!!! at least he beat the full sized van he ran against his last run! coulda been worse, my buddy that went was runnin his altima, and he was running mid 17's! talk about battle of the slow!!! tonight i lowered my max, so now i've got a strut bar, and lowering springs. intake and exhaust coming, then we'll be talking 14's i know it!

how much? looks like i'm either selling my car and getting a VG (auto or 5 speed..whatever i can get for a better price in good condition) or i'm selling my car and i'm going to be in debt for quite some time (parents are thinking about floating me a loan so i can get a VQ 5 speed)
i'd rather not be in debt but after driving my dads 97 SE it makes me want a VQ real bad (my dads is an auto ::drools over VQ 5 speed:: and its damn quick)
-PaT-
'86 bmw 325 2 door 5 speed. now it needs a clutch because i had to rape a diamonte who thought they were badass (damn fine girl driving though :-D ) along with a 626 and civic CX.
looking for great 3rd gen or parents to approve loan for 95-96 se 5 speed.

LOL.. sounds like a plan to me! I'll bring my titanium baseball bat. It's light but it can really do some damage! How about you beat my max while I beat yours? We'll do it at the Meet on June 3rd and all the other max owners will look at us like we're psycho.. hehe
