Powder Coat Parts

I am wondering a couple parts you guys would be interested in having powder coated.I plan on buying some spare parts to have as cores basically so if anyone wants something coated the turnaround time would be really quick if I already have the part here and can coat it the color yo wanted and have it ready for shipping as soon as the core arrives.

So what parts would be good and popular to have powder coated on a 3rd gen?

I dont know if anybody would do it to the stock wheels but maybe them, or wheels in general. also certain brackets and whatnot under the hood. And maybe valve cover and intake if the powdercoat can stand the heat.

realgoon i wish that I could, that woudlmean i woudl have a huge UV setup

The lowtemp powder can withstand a continous 350 farenheit so the intake and valve covers would handle that fine.I plan on doing all my intake parts in the chrome/polished aluminum looking powder coat. Brake calipers turn out wicked using the stuff.

Any other ideas for stuff? I am thinking baout getting a set of reman calipers to powder coat.

VE and VG valve covers, intake manifolds, some of the PCV tubes and crap on the top of the engine for the VE..
calipers..

there are lots of small brackets under the hood that would look great cleaned up and PC'd as well. radiator support brackets and such.

mind if I ask what chrome/polished powder you use?
I've used some of Eastwood's Argent silver and it turned out okay.. I would prefer a more chromed look though. (I have a small amount of "almost chrome" but I haven't tried it yet.)

Also.. I'm sure you know this.. most of thsoe metallic powders MUST be clearcoated over them in order to keep them from tarnishing. eastwood's Argent silver looks great when it's first done, but 4 months later in my engine bay, it looks like crap from all the water spots that ruined the finish.. Eastwood said it didn't need it when I first did all the parts.. now they say it requires clear coating on their site. 30 hours of work wasted due to some bad advice.

Yeah they (eastwood) have the new stuff that is a one step chrome but I would say it would tarnish in time also if it was not cleared. For the chrome looking stuff we are going to try some of the products from tiger drylac, I have heard alot about their mirror silver for a chrome look but it also need to be cleared over for best results.

I think we are going to go mostly with tiger drylac anyway since they offer over 180 regular colors plus all of the specialty and custom colors.

Thanks for all the tips on pieces,I am going to do a bunch on mine and then have the pics to show off the product.

I just buffed the corrosion off my radiator mounts and sprayed it with hi-temp clear coat. It's not a chrome look, more like pewter, but looks way better than corroded rust.
