I don't want to sound rude, but 90% of the questions that have been asked in the last week have also been asked every week for the last several months. It gets very annoying watching people ask the same "What mods should I do first? What springs are available for my Max? Will cams get me more power? My window won't roll up- what now?"

Check the message boards a few pages back, and also check the MaxFAQS page that Jambo has set up.. this will answer about 90% of your questions.
If you still have more, I'm working on a 3rd gen specific FAQ page (initial "stuff" is located at http://24.1.29.190/blehm/maxima_stuff/ and Kaleb already has one going with many of the common questions. check out http://www.kalebonline.com and look at his FAQ page.

IF you've sitll got specific questions, I've got no problems answering.. it just gets REALY annoying to see the same 6 questions day in and day out, when all you have to do is go back one page to see the answer.

Cams, homemade CAI, Bose adaptor stuff, body kits, flexane engine mounts, white gauges, what oil(s) to use, when to chang etranny fluid and what kind, NOS, spring/struts/sways, most effective mods, wheel sizes and offsets.. all this stuff is either on this page or the next one back on the 3rd gen board.. (I'm not even talking about Matt's 3rd gen forum here either.. they're all on the maxima.org forums)

So one more time... PLEASE look back in the posts or check the many FAQ pages before asking basic questions!

Sorry.. just had to get this off my chest.

my opinion. i think that this forum should have questions about springs, cams, tranny problems. anything that has to do with a maxima. because this is a maxima forum. i mean there are really not that many posts here anyways, without the "newbie" questions this would be a no question board.

There's hardly any posts becuase the few guys that actually know anything have already answered the same questions 10x before. It gets kinda tiring. If we become lurkers, we end seeing the same tired old intake questions. Vicous cycle!

there's a difference between sharing information about struts, springs, tranny problems, etc and beating a subject to death..
sure, there are more and more people that have "experiences" with their trannies.. that's fine.. I'm just tired of hearing the "Which springs are best?" "What shocks to use?" "can I turbo my Max?" "which intake will give me more power?"

ALL of this can be looked up in the FAQ section, and can also be found by simply doing a search of this board.
to prove my point, I did a search on "white SE gauges" last night and I came up with almost 30 different posts about it.
the info is out there and easy to find, you just have to take a little effort on your part to look for it. kinda like going to a library and walking straight to the information desk to ask for a certain book. Why don't you take a look around, see what's there, how it works, THEN if you have questions ask away.

matt i agree 100% with you here. at this point i just gave up. i don't even bother to answer the questions anymore. I see you on the 3rd gen BBS going crazy answering everyone...well recently i don't even do that anymore. if i know it i'm sure someone will answer it anyway...so i don't even bother. what's worst is someone who doesn't know and tries to answer them and point the person to the wrong direction.

some of the topics that i've see that are quite common...
-window reg/part #/is it do able/instructions/
-exhaust/cat back/Y-pipe/cats/B-pipes/headers
-intake/CAI/home made intake/CAI
-turbo/SC/NOS/do able/what's needed
-fastest/hottest/"pimpest"
-lights - what size/what to get/what is whitest or bluest/HIDs etc etc...
-tranny - coolers/ATF/hoses/VB/torque convert.
-brakes/painting/pads/color
-brake rotors - slotted/drilled/cooling of brakes
-engine swaps/VG30DETT/VQ/VE/RB
-radios/bose/clicks/popping/what adapter/where to run wires/what sounds best/what brand to get
-courtesy nissan -who to call/discount questions/looking for kaleb to give them pricing..
-O2 sensor - function/MPG/price/where/how

i guess people bring up old topic for the sake of talking about them. but Matt there's only so much we can talk about ya know. after a while u just gotta deal with it. it's your call if u want to answer it. if it annoys you then just go past the post man.
don't stress bro...just let it go.
Dan

Agree

True enough, all that's been said. But, in all due defense of those that repeat the same old stuff, it's because they are new and don't know how to get around in here. Technically, I'm still new, only been here a month or so. I still have trouble, but at least I know how to look up old threads. Newbies don't, I thought that is what this forum was set up for? Sad, I've seen more people trashed receantly on this forum than actually helped, and all becuase the question they ask is new to them, if any of us know the answere point them there and end the thread. I don't expect maturaty on this forum, hell, I love a sense of humor! But, I do expect a touch of courtesy and respect for those who have the same interest we all do here, so why do some of you trash them? If there are troubles moderating this forum, perhaps we need to add some help in here so the load isn't so tough. Nuf said.

I agree with Chris, and I apolagize for any repeatitive posts that I have made, it was not meant to be annoying and stupid, I'm young and dont know too much about this stuff, I will try my best to not be repeatitive and annoying. Again I apologize for any part I had in this......
