i've been contemplating about selling my maxima in february after i pay it off. and i've been thinking about buying a 2000 honda civic hatchback, since you can get them for like $13,000 off the lot. would my 17x7 rims fit? i know i would have to get an adapter to go from 5 lug to 4 lug. does that cause the wheels to stick out more? and i would want to get neuspeed springs do you guys think i would have any problems?

You'd probably be better off asking stuff like that on the honda board.. they'll be more familiar with what rims do/don't fit.
I dunno how the adaptors work, whether they're a spacer type thing, or whether you replace the entire spindle.. I've heard of them, but dunno specifics on their operation/use.
Hate to hear of you selling the max, but there always comes a time when people need change. stick around, bud.

That makes me sick to hear that you want a civic over a max. Civics are my enemy! Whatever you want though man. Good luck

i'm probably not going to do it for a while since i spent so much time and money replacing all the bose crap. and it will be nice to not have a car payment anymore. i'll probably just drive it till it dies. by that time i'l have more money to get a better car anyway.

Thank god. I thought that you had turned on us. Nothing against civics for geting back and forth to work, but buying one to hook up is worthless. You cant drive a mile without seeing one just like yours. "You have made a wise choice my friend."

civics are me to cars. becasue if someone asked someone had a civic the answer is always ME TOO. be different man and keep your max. every one has a hooked up civic. you have to sink at least $20,000 to compete or have it look good and try to get it under a 13 1/4.

dont want to sound like a honda guy, but you can get a civic into the 13's for way less than you can a max. you can get civics into 14's with a b18c1 engine swap from an integra gsr. you can get this for under 5 grand. less if you do the install yourself. thats a pure stock engine. 13's with slicks and a few bolt ons. we have a relatively heavy car. hondas are very light and have all the aftermarket support. this is why everybody gets them. cheap, good gas mileage, and quick. i wish i could say the same for the max. a max would take tons of customnizing to do 13's. i love the max, but we just dont have the aftermarket support to do stuff. and hondas are very responsive to mods. max engines are already pretty much tweaked to max potential.

james you have to buy a body kit, rims, paint job, spring/struts, clears and then the proformce mods. maybe its not $20,000 but you will have to spend a lot in order for you civic to start looking good and not like everyone eles civic. what ever you do to a max is phat because not many as many people own them unlike civic where they are a ME TOO car. every one and there moms own the car. a few of my friends are going up to the show in new hampsheir <--spelling? and they were like bring your car because no many maxima's go to the shows and compete. just go a little of topic. what i am tring to say is keep the max man

For $500 you can get a maxima to run 13's if you have a 5-speed 92' on SE. You might think that civics are easy too hook up and cheaper but they really arent. If you want something that is fast then buy a mustang. I'm going to buy a 94 cobra after I'm done with my max and I know that I can have it running 10's after only investing about 5 gran in it. The total cost will be around 13 to 14 thousand, now I know a civic cant touch that for the price. Either way 4-cylinders have no tourqe and are crappy to drive. I'd rather drive a stock V-8 over a hooked up 4 any day.

yeah i love the max too, cuz you can be original. i was gonna sell mine a while back to get an accord, but everybody has one. i wanted something different. just wish there was more aftermarket support. and btw, i would go with a camaro over a mustang.

yea but nos is one hell of a mod, i mean a big shot of it. you could probably get 40 or so runs till something brakes or you bust up your crank shaft. nos is alright if you run a 50 shot with a bone stock engine. but still it that alone will not make you run in the 13ths. back to the mets game peace

i saw a lowered 300zx today and now i wanna get one of those again. i was seriously looking in autotrader for one, but they're either too expensive or too many miles. i want a twin turbo though. just lowering and intake makes those badass!

the buick GN will easly do the 13's it has about 400 horse power to the rear. buick like e hired guys from ititly to work on the engine. that is a badass car but now most of those cars have got the Sh#$ beat out of them. any older muscle car is like that. i bet most of the 1993-94 Z's are beat to sh%$. i use to work at a nissan dealer and i say the car that came in and they were cr@p. unless you know who you are buying from, it is really hard to find a cheap sports car that is not beat to sh!^. thats my two cents laterz

What about the new Cady?
It's based off of the Corvette and I think it might even be faster than the ol' Chevy! It's supposed to compete with the Mercedes SL500 - it's priced with it too. That thing's going to be a monster! I'm glad that Cady is finally getting itself outta the gutter and back into the mainstream.
