I have decided that its time to get rid of my high flow muffler. The sound is awsome, but can become annoying under certain cercumstances. I think I just want to go more with a lux look and sound. I want a silent muffler w/the dual chrome tips like the stock SE muffler. Where can I find one for a good price??

I know that warpspeed has one but Dan says it still has a little rumble. I might just go with that one.

BTW would anyone be interested in a 6 month old MaxSpeed chrome t-304 muffler w/dual 3" dtm tips?? Its in great condition and sounds sweet.

Thanks,
Kevin

I'd be interested in that myself considering that one of my mods for '02 is changing the exhaust system (Warpspeed Y Pipe, Random Technologies High Flow Cat). However, I want the chrome tips that bend downward or a DTM setup.

what kinda power will I lose??

Being that I will be switching back to a silent muffler which is more restrictive, what kinda power lose will I experience. I know a high flow muffler really only yields like 1-3 hp at most. Will I feel this lose?

Thanks in return,
Kevin

hmm

How about getting a stock replacement and some Chrome tips from Pepboys?
I know it sounds kind of stupid but I know a lot of aftermarket mufflers are all loud or add some sort of noise, like a growl or even a whistling sound. I've seen some expensive Benzes with aftermarket square tipped mufflers, I wonder what those are and if they are loud at all? It would make no sense putting a loud muffler on a Benz.

Re: hmm

I would also like to know that answer. I have also seen benz and other lux cars with muffler/exhaust that are not loud yet they look sweet. Does anyone know about this?? I myself want to go the stealth mode.

Thanks,
Kevin

If it's a square tip, chances are it is Remus.

Buy the 5th gen's variable exhaust. Quiet, yet powerful. Ask Jeff92SE about his..

I'm interested in the muffler.
How much are you asking for it?

I've been shopping around for an aftermarket muffler but had second thoughts about the 'ricey' noise it may produce, especially if I were to add a y-pipe later on. My plan is to stick with the stock muffler, it's in decent shape... have the shop polish it or chrome it out and weld on a ss tip. When we're talking about aftermarket muffler (not catback), there is minimal hp gain if at all. IMO, unless you like the noise it produces, why bother?
