Opinions on Brake Lines

Gents,

I got leaky steel brake lines right in the middle of the wheelbase, maybe about 1 tablespoon per night. Ideally I would love to replace all the lines, but time is extremely tight, and labour and new parts is very costly, so has anyone ever successfully spliced their brake lines and had it hold up? I heard to do all the lines, you gotta drop the LS control arm, so that makes me *sigh*

Any input appreciated from those who've gone through leaky DOT3 lines. Thanks.

pull that plastic cover thingy and see how far the rust/rot goes. its a pain to get the lines out of their holders. it cost me $41 to have the fuel feed line replaced up to the control arm/subframe, turn around was about an hour.
find a reputable shop. parts shouldnt cost anymore than $30, labor my guess would be $150 to replace both depending on how far they go. downtime is probably a day if the shop is both quick, knowledgable and honest about when they will actually work on the car
good luck.
