Outside Temperature Sensor

Does anybody know of any type of temperature sensor that reads the outside temperature and displays it on a small screen. Most new cars have this feature usually accompanied w/ a compass. But I'm just looking for the temperature reading feature. I know there are some out there but I was just wondering if anyone here used one.

our cars don't have one,

you have to install a aftermarket sensor for the reading of the outside temp nd install a guage inside for the outside temp,

Pics??? what for???
It should be installed at the front of the car under the bumper (yes you'll need to do wiring; and yes, you'll need to make a plug if you don't have harness for your mirror - Gentex mirror in this case).

I have a Gentex mirror with compass and temp with this sensor installed, and it works perfectly.

I dont feel like spending $250 on a Gentex mirror. All I want is a simple digital gauge thats small and easy to mount.

Ha-ha!!! Good luck then!
BTW, if you have a GXE - you should already have outside temp read out on climate controls/display.

And I bought a Gentex mirror on ebay for $35 (what $250 are you talking about?lol)

It should be an "AMB" button on your controls

This is something like what I am talking about, but not quite as elaborate, and not as expensive.

The rear view mirror Gentex unit is just not what I am looking for.

cheapest digital thermometer I have found is at walmart. its $10. its small and sticks on the dash, has both in and outside temps. all you have to do is put the sensor somewhere. I used to have it mounted in the intake. it worked pretty well. I never really checked its accuracy, but im sire its good for +/-5*.

That sounds like something I may be looking for. Do you happen to remember a brand name because I can't seem to find what you are talking about on Walmarts website.

Just go to any truck stop. I found one for my Nissan 4x4 at Flying J for around $15. It had a small digital readout that I mounted with velcro on top of my CB. I also hardwired mine, using the same power supply as the CB. I ran the sensor wire through the firewall and mounted the sensor in my front bumper. It was always pretty close to the temps I would see on banks and whatnot.

You can also get them at Radioshack:

thermometer like my old one

Could you perhaps find the item you speak of on Target's website. If its possible, I just wanted to compare it to the Radioshack unit.
