i'm looking into redoing my suspension also so i'll be interested in what people say, but you should specify how low you want to go 2" seems like a bit to much for myself. and the different heights will give you a different ride feeling.

 

I haven't lowered my max yet but everyone I've asked says the same thing: Eibachs. Would you really wanna go lower than 1.2" anyways? You wouldn't be able to go over a small rock with 2"!

 

ba, i got intrax springs with a 1.7 drop and i can still go over large speed bumps....

of course im more at risk now to blowing my struts since im sittin lower but ill look good doing it

 

I had the Sprints, and i could go over bumps and stuff fine, and they looked really nice.

 

all though I have kybgr2's struts and sprint springs in the front so it can be bumpy at times, but not always.

 

I have blue sprints. I love em. Their harsh on bumps, Every speed table Needs to be taken at an angle if you have a body kit on it. Intrax aren't supposed to be as low as sprints... But I've seen a intrax set up next to my sprints and they look much lower... I donno....

Eibachs don't have any noticable drop over stock springs.

 

What? Eibachs have a VERY noticeable drop over stock springs. Theres proof besides visual as well. When tightening the bolt on the strut after switching to the eibachs, you don't even need the spring compressor they are so short. Also, when I go to jack up my car, I have to pull up on the car while someone pushes the jack underneath the frame.

I would prefer sprint springs compared to eibachs, but I've heard of a lot of blown struts due to the lower springs so eibachs for me.

 

...I have to lift my car just to reach under it.

I hope my kybs hold up... But their cheap enough to replace.

 

if i buy the eibachs springs , stock struts are good? or should i find better ones?

can you tell me some better ones , i got my maxima about 2 weeks ago but i fell in love with it heh. so im looking to do some small mod stuff to it , like lowering it , but i was wondering if the eibachs could work with the stock springs:?

the eibach are springs thatare used in place of the stock springs.
You can use the stock struts with them, it's just not recommended

 

er yea i ment struts , any suggestion on newer struts?

 

a minimum of KYBs, with a recomendation of Konis

 

Konis, they are the best available for our max. Other options are tokicos and then the lower aftermarket/performance in kyb.

You will be o.k. with the stock struts for now, but they may blow due to the lowering. If you want better performance and not worry about having to do the job twice, then uprgrade if you can afford it. KYBs are as cheap as OEM ones, Tokicos around 400 for all 4, and the konis about 500 for all 4.

 

what about b&g springs. are they any good compared to eibach

 

Yes, it is a big drop, but i think that i got a 1.6" drop or something like that that i bottomed out my car, the first that it will hit is your Exaust pipe. Dont want that to happen, your headers will most likely break the bolts on the block and is very tough or expensive to fix. I wouldnt go anymore that 1.2" drop.

Any one drive their lowered maxima in the snow? My car could use a drop but I have to deal with the northeast winters up here.

 

I took my ma up in vermont in the snow. I never drove in a storm, but I didn't have much of a problem. Driving without a kit it find, it's murder hitting ice chucks.

 

Um, for your exhaust pipe to get hit hard enough to break the manifold studs it would need to get nailed in the Y-pipe. Last time I checked, there was a crossmember and fatty sway bar protecting it. I have however scraped the exhaust tip of my muffler a few times, but theres no way that messed up my studs.

 

Thanks for that reply, I am replacing the exhaust studs now and I plan on putting in a new y-pipe, I have not heard anyone else talk about the y-pipe breaking the studs either, and most of the people on here that I pay attention to have lowered cars.
