Window regulator and motor question.
Window regulator and motor question.
Hey guys, I just recently ordered a new window regulator for my 92 Maxima LR window. It was a cheap price, but I later found out that it was because it didn't come with a motor. When the window "died" on me I heard the motor, but the window wasn't moving so I assumed it was the regulator. That being said once I get the new regulator is it hard to attach my old motor to the new regulator and what does it consist of? Thanks.
There are just a couple of screws, really easy to swap over as long as your motor still works.
Most new regulators don't come with motors. On my driver door regulator I bought one with a new motor, though, since I figure that motor got about 100 times more use than all of the others combined.

Three big phillips screws around the plastic pulley for the wire and it comes off. You have to pull on it with some muscle just a little, because the way it's connected is that on the motor, it's a propeller-type wheel that snaps onto the regulator to raise or lower the window. Once you dig in, you'll see what I mean. Good luck!
It isnt very hard to attach the old motor to the new regulator. Like the guys above mentioned, just a couple of screws. I had to do that when my window regulator cable jumped its track and had to be replaced. Am gonna do it again since my rear drivers side regulator has just gone bad and the motor seems to be OK.
