More on Magnaflow...
I was just about to order a Magnaflow muffler. It is a double wall, straight thru design with dual tips (part #14816). The distributor forewarned me that there would be 'alot' of drone intoduced @ 2000 rpm, based on my 2.5 y-pipe and the dual pipes. He instead suggested I go with a single pipe exit (part# 14851).
I prefer the dual tip personally. Can anyone verify, or add to this?

hrmmm i suggest you buy mine and test out the single tip, hehe.
with my single tip i didnt have much drone at all about 1600rpm i mean yeah its straight through but not a whole lot. droning was usually when i was in a higher gear and going 1200rpms or so....if i recall correctly.

Sorry mate. Not what I'm looking for. I really prefer dual tip if possible, and I also want it rolled. I personally don't mind a little droning, that is part of what I'm after (to some extent), but not if it's going to annoy the s.hit out of me.

I was just referring to the way yours is sharp cut at the end of the pipe, whereas I am looking at a tip with a rolled end. Maybe the pics are throwing things off. Could be a shadow. At any rate, I still want dual exhaust tips. Unless someone can convince me I will regret it.

i have a single tip, rolled, straight through exhaust from the turbo back. it drones at around 2,000-2,200 rpm or so, which doesn't bother me whatsoever. considering when you drive on the highway your rpm's should usually stay at around 2,500-2,800 rpm when at all possible for best fuel economy this will keep any drone out.
basically, at the rpm's that you should usually cruise at, you won't hear any droning. that's how my exhaust acts.

I was talking to Dallas at Warpspeed performance about the Magnaflow mufflers, and I swear this came up! Not a direct quote, but basically he said in the magnaf muffler twin tip the v is about 10" into the muffler, negating the effects of the rest of the muffler. Basically he said it's louder and drons more than the single tip.
