bleeding brakes/ss brake line install

if you have abs do you need to bleed the abs actuator like the chilton says? also when installing speedbleeders do i just screw them in or use something like teflon tape or some other sealant?

Where did you get the speedbleeders and how much were they?

The bleeding order sounds right, not sure of bleeding the abs actuator...

Thanks

I have ABS, just disconnect all 3 ABS wire harness connectors (as per the FSM) and bleed the brakes like you normally would. I think speedbleeders just screw in, when you loosen them the spring moves allowing fluid through a one-way valve or something. I'm guessing when you get them they'll have directions.

The way the speed bleeder works is it has a ball bearing inside of it, so when you loosen it the fluid wants to come out, but the ball bearing holds all the fluid in. Then you just go into your car and pump the brakes for awhile and the speed bleeders let all of the air out but no fluid will come out. Pretty simple stuff, and they cost about 8 dollars for two at autozone.

Its alright. Your first order is based on the fact that the general rule of bleeding brakes is to start from the wheel furthest from the master cylinder and then progress to the wheel closest to the MC. For some reason Nissan has its own bleeding order. Whether it really even matters or not, who knows.

My '91 is non ABS. I flushed all the fluid two weeks ago in the order of lr, rr, rf, lf. Worked fine.
