if u look at the positive terminal of ur battery there are three wires, one is abut 4 gauge and then there are 2 little like 16-18 gauge wires, what are all of the wires 2?

 

as far as i can tell from the fsm the wires are connected ot the follwoing (charging system, the 2 fusable link boxes, starter motor) and they are also tied to other spot alone the route to the fusable link boxes

 

that is what i thought 2, but i have just completed the big three upgrade(or so i thought) so i dosconected the big 4 gauge wire cause i have upgraded it to 1/0 but then engine will not start, everything else in my car has power, but when i go to crank the key, there is no sound at all, so i hooked the 4 guage wire back up and left the 1/0 hooked up also and it starts fine, i then tested the wires with the car on and both of them have currect running throught them, when the car is running. i am very confused here cause i thought that power would take the route with the least restiance, but for some reason it is taking both of mine, but when the stock 4 guage wire isnt hooked up then it wont start? if u can make sense of what i just said(i bearly can) then plz help me out here or explain what the heck is goin on?

the 4 gauge wire runs DIRECTLY to the starter.
the other wires run everything else in the car.
so connect that puppy back up and leave it the F alone.

 

then what wire connects the alt to battery?

 

It has a plug in harness.
