Instant RPM rise

So I was getting in my 91 standard max to go home. I live about 4 miles away from work and I start my car, let it warm up for a bit, then start the drive home. Almost home and pulling into my parking spot, I put the car into neutral and glide to my spot. While on the brake and about to pull the E-Brake, I notice that the RPM level is at 1500 while at a stand still, normally this is 800-850. Not until I restarted the car did the RPMs settle into its regular position. What do you guys think the reason for the instant rise in my RPM level was for and what is the cause? I do realize that this might be something that no one can answer, but any information is helpful.

Thank you
Jason

My car would do that sometimes, when it was still cold it would idle high at times. Someone soon will come along and tell you what to clean and whatnot.
