hmmm... Try vacuum leaks, and make sure that the exhaust system is working properly.

exhaust is new and i checked for vacuum leaks....my teacher at school says it may be an O2 sensor or a MAF sensor...

Unplug O2. Tst. If no behaviour change, its the ou-too... (is it?) Some say that O2 is not used on high rpm, but so far I havent found such info in FSM.
- U may also tst sensor resistance: 5.2-8.2 ohms @ 77°F (25°C)
- do ECU selftst
- Check light should be on. (dunno really)

VE or VG?
either one, I'd blame injectors. VE just gets to have the knock sensor tossed in for good measure.

Well I have similar problems on a potential max I want to get. The car needed to be jumped so I am guessing the alternator may be bad because when I went to start it it just clicked. Then when I jumped it it started but idled horribly. A terrible shake in the engine. Then when you put the car in drive it dies. TPS has already been changed and no check engine light when car is running. Possible causes????

I would bet on it being the knock sensor and/or subharness...

Depends on engine: VGE http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/9

Check charge voltage, alt leak current.

Sorry... it is a regular VG. A 91 SE.

Symptoms:
Battery was dead and friend says it would not hold a charge (Alternator???)

Jumped battery for a few minutes then it starts right up (Alternator???)

Runs horrible. Terrible shaking and when I pressed the gas the rpms went to like 1500 and stayed there for too long. Put it in drive car shuts off. Starts right back up.
