Engine rebuild

Would It be worthly my time and money to get a engine rebuild kit or to find a VE Engine somewhere and put that in? Also If I were to get a VE engine would I also have to use the tranny for that engine or could I use my current tranny? About how much should I look at for a decent rebuild kit?

Depending.

A. If you did the work yourself it might be cheaper to rebuild.
B. If not, just look for a J-spec and swap.
C. Tranny will swap just fine, ATX to ATX, MTX-MTX, no problem.

that a vg,

here is a ve engine

you can't just swap a ve into a vg shell you have to do a lot of modification in order for the ve engine to fit into a vg shell,

the ve engine will not work with a vg trans,

you have to find a ve car that has a ve trans

i don't think it is worth it to do that swap,

Please don't talk unless you know what you're talking about.

the VE and VG use the same tranny bolt patterns. if you hae a 5 spd, they will bolt right up. swap the carrier bearing as well though. it bolts to the back of the block under the rear engine mount. exchange those while the engine is off the car.

the hard part is going to be the wiring. everything else will plug right in. mounts line up, trannies bolt up, etc.
but doing the engine wiring isn't easy.
