Looking for someone/shop to fix the broken manifold stud on 93 GXE

Hi,

I am in the SouthEast Seattle area (Renton, WA to be exact). My 93 GXE has a broken manifold stud that is just gettihg louder and louder everyday. I just don't have the facility, tools, skills to fix this. I plan to buy all the necessary parts (studs, gaskets) if I can find someone or shop that can fix this (ie, changing all studs) in the Seattle area.

I would appreciate if you can recommend any shops or someones in this forum to do this for me with a reasonable cost (upto 450-500 dollars max). Is this possible???

My wife keeps telling me to sell it and find another used car but I want to keep the Max. It has been very reliable through the years and it is my second Max (I had a 5th gen Max but had to sell it for financial reason)..

Thanks in advance.
Tri

i have the same problem on my 91vg. my front manifold is warped like michael jackson, and my rear manifold has one stud busted. when i took it to my local exhaust shop, they wouldn't touch it on account of the alum heads. i have yet to pull it apart and see the whole job i have ahead, but it looks time consuming. i borrowed a 90 deg air drill in case i need to drill it out. fortunately, this will give me a chance to get it back on the lift and do a little more exhaust work to it. i bought triplegmax's beefy magnaflow muffler this past week and i have been drooling to grab the mig unit and slap it on. i have been so busy lately that i haven't been able to sit down. i'm gonna try and get this going in the next month or so, i may be able to help you out then. it may be some time before i could get to it though. anybody else in seattle able to help this guy out?

I have 2 broken front exhaust studs myself, but it's still not too bad (quiet when warm), but I will need to get to it eventually as well.

I'm pretty sure I have one or more studs gone too. I wish I could fix mine too, but I can't. Anyone got a lead on a shop in SoCal? What's a good price to fix it?

Hi Matt,

Sound great. Hope you will get that done soon. After that, if you can work on my car, please let me know. I would very appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

I know this wont help but there is an excellent shop in W.V. that did mine for around 500 bucks. your best bet is to try a nissan dealership and ask for prices. the particular name of mine was john sisson nissan and its located in wheeling w.v.. it was the best money i ever spent on this car. good luck though.
