i was just wondering. . . is this possible. I'd like to have the shorter gear ratios of the VG 5spd. it would be alot better for runnin roadcourse, and possibly at the strip. anyone know if they'll mate up to my engine?

you don't want to mess with it. The losses from not having LSD in your VE tranny far outweighs the benefits of lower gearing in the VG.

in drags, the start is what makes you the most time. biff that, and you're screwed. LSD is essential for a good, rock-solid launch on a dragstrip.

on road courses, pulling out of the corners is where you gain your speed- and again, the LSD plays a huge role here.

Dont do that. That would cost too much I would buy a NOS kit instead. Then that would help your 1/4 mile time.
