Just replace the o2 sensor and KS?

I dont know if my O2 or knock sensor had ever been changed, but I'm geting bad gas mileage, and the exhaust has a strong scent. Would it be a good idea just to buy them from autozone and install them? Would autozone still be a good place to get both?

Thanks-

If those sensors are ok, swap hlps only salesmen.

Plugs, sootwires, cap swap is easier. Start from tHere...

Btw. Autozone leases a tester to diag KS.

if you're unsure of the mileage on the o2 sensor, change it.
the knock sensor I'd leave alone on your VG

BTW there are better places than autozone to spend your money

I wouldn't touch the KS until I knew for sure it was bad. There are ohm tests for both.

But if the 02 sensor has 75-100 K+ miles, it's probably dead. Fortunately, it's an easy sensor to replace. But there is a test you can do for this also.

It's in the stickies somewhere.

Did someone say FSM? Noone? There is a quick and easy inspection procedure for the O2S and a partially reliable procedure for the KS. Why not run an O2 check first and see how many green flashes in 10 seconds you are getting? Does not cost you anything.

he talking about the ecu,

pulling codes from the ecu to see if the o2 sensor is functioning correctly or not,

the ecu is on the passenger side,

you have to remove a cover to get to it,
