What is the sealing factor in the AC parts?

I just replaced condenser and receiver/drier in my Max. The receiver came with the rubber seal rings already in the holes, but I did not find a bag with the rubber rings for the condenser until I finished the job. I simply reused the rings that were there. Is that Okay? I can still go back and replace the rings if that's important, but I thought they would not be the factor that seals the system. That must be the tapered aluminum pipes that plug into the holes I thought. Do I have to open up the system once again and replace those two rings?

I would replace them....It would suck to dump all that refrigerant in there and then 2 days later, it all leaks out...

any time you break a fitting on the A/C, you should replace the o-rings on it.

lube them with a small amount of PAG oil when you have it apart so they slide into place and don't pinch.

otherwise it's possible they will leak, and you don't want to waste all that time and effort, do you?

Ok than, I'll simly remove the grille and redo the condenser fittings. What's PAG oil anyway?

PAG oil is the oil in the A/C lines used to lubricate the compressor. it's yucky stuff.

PAG is good, or you can buy "refrigerant oil." You'll have to coat the new o-rings in them lightly before installing. Try to use a clean metal pick-like tool when putting them on to avoid contamination. Buy them from Nissan. They're a few bucks each, but like the guys said, it would suck if they started leaking. You'll need 4.

meh.. the parts store o rings are fine. I've used dozens of them. just take the old ones in with you if you don't have the right ones. they usually keep them in a little box and sell them for about $0.89 each.

I have two in the r/d already and they are new. All what's left to do is to pull the grille and put two new ones on the condenser ports. I have them, they came with the condenser and I simly found them only when I crushed the box to put it at the curb. But I do not have any PAG or refrigerant oil...

you can get it at any parts store. you'll need it when you buy refirgerant anyway- assuming you're going to do that part.

I want to put in Duracool, but I stalled for a moment as I do not know, whether I need to add oil or not. My system was leaking for about year and a half and I got it recharged early this summer. In two weeks it was empty again. They found a huge leak in the condenser and that's when I replaced it.

Do I need to add oil with Duracool?

in that case, you should have flushed the system and redone it from scratch. there's no telling how much oil is in it.
