Need help diagnosing problems

I;ve noticed a few new problems with my Max:

1. WHen ever I go over a bump, even a small one the noise of the springs/ struts on the Rear passenger side is very loud. The struts are only a 1000 miles old. It sounds like the spring is strected too much.

2. After driving for a while I can smell anti freeze or something burning. However, the car doesnt overheat and the coolant level stays the same. The radiator is also full. Also, if I touch the engine its veryyy hott to the touch.

1. Have a helper push on the back bumper on the side you are hearing the noise while you are under it on that side preferably with a flashlight and looking at the suspension to see if anything is broken/bent,etc......

2.If its not leaking/loosing antifreeze, then its not antifreeze your smelling...A engine running at normal temperature will BURN THE CRAP OUT OF YOU!!!

Tru, but better safe than sorry. I'll try those ideas about the suspension, thanx guys. COuld it be a control arm?

1. The struts assy big top 2" (?) nut which holds all bits inside the strut tube, unscrews by itself... If no locktite [or old nut] was used on the installation. Check, tighten as necessary.

2.a. Follow the liquid level; if it stays put, no problem.

2.b. We have engine producing 100kW output; 75kW is waste heat. (compare: one house heating needs 10kW)

If it's coolant you smell, maybe the heater core is going. You need to put a pressure tester on the system. Mabye the overflow bottle was full, and every cooldown the radiator fills back up...so coolant level isn't 100% accurate.
