Why not? I ordered mine from warpspeed (with the .org discount) and it came in less than 5 days to NJ.

You've posted 179 times and you're asking why I said "not to count on getting it fast"????? Take a look around on the previous threads and you'll see quite a few people complaining that it takes a while to get Warpspeed products and getting an answer out of them sometimes can be just as much fun. Personally it took 3.5 weeks to get my y pipe to the border, if it only took you 5 days well good for you, I'm just stating what I've heard and been through with this company.

Likewise, I am stating what I have been through with this company.

Maybe the guy I dealt with isn't there anymore (who knows?), but I have gotten a straight answer when I ordered (through phone). I told him that if it will take over a week to get it, that I do not want it. He assured me that I would get it in less than a week, and I did. I understand that alot of folks here got service from this company, but I think it's unfair to have only negative ratings of a company, when some folks out there definitely did get positive treatment. Before I ordered mine, a whole bunch of folks here recommended them, and none of them complained about service.

I'm going to side with the previous thread. I ordered mine off ebay and recieved the y-pipe in under a week. Maybe I was one of the lucky few who recieved speedy service from good old warpspeed performance.

I am glad that you got your Y-pipe quickly too. I am sorry that alot of folks got bad service from warpspeed. It's one thing to blast a company for the bad service one received, but to blast another forum user for posting a positive feedback of a company seems bit harsh.

I think the folks who has had good experience with warpspeed should post their comments...

Hey I didn't men to blast you at all! and am sorry if you took it that way. I just ment that, from what I've seen on this forum and through my experience warpspeed might take a while to process a request. If I've misinterpreted what people have said in previous forums complaining about warpspeed's quickness then Apologies~!

I did not direct my comments to you, apologies from here if it sounded that way. I guess Warpspeed recently has been having problems? I purchased just before beginning of the summer and they were so quick and polite on service.

I had a heck of a time on the two bolts for the cat end, but I took it to a garage down the street, and the guy lifted the car, used impact gun on the bolt to loosen it, and then lowered the car and didn't charge me anything. I did have another heck of time trying to tighten one of the bolts for the manifold end because the y-pipe was in the way. I would kill for a nice set of racheting box wrenches...

visit an exhaust shop...if you still have the stock Y-pipe on the car...they can weld on a new flex piece.

warpspeed is hit-and-miss on when you'll get your pipe. they always have been.

If they have them in stock and they're in the mood to ship it that day, then you'll get it pretty quick.

If they're out of stock or they don't feel like shipping that day, then it could take weeks.
It's always been like that with them, and is with me to some extent. I do my best to get parts out, but if it's something big (like my lower tie bar) that has to go to the powdercoater in batches, then it may take a while if I don't have one in stock.
ground kits and smaller stuff that don't require powdercoating or other finishing processes, I can ship within a day or two.

I ordered a Y-pipe from their ebay auctions and I remember getting it fairly quick. Not like a Y-pipe is a life or death part...

Anyhow, the piece is awesome. I didn't really notice much gains... was going to do a g-tech before and after run but the g-tech pro was acting goofy and it was difficult with an auto tranny. It made my car quiet and that was my main intention. It may have made it a bit faster

OTOH, my car seems to make more rattles when idle in gear. Maybe the y-pipe is hitting against my front sways, I dunno. havent been under there to look, lol.

My Y-pipe does hit the sway bars. It made rattles under heavy acceleration (sounds like going over bumps with either busted bushings, dead strut bearings, or both). I did change the control arms and installed new struts and new mounting hardware, so the problem seems to be with the Y-pipe. I did crawl under the car 2 days ago, and noticed a little dimple on the bottom of the Y-pipe just over the sway bar. I can't really see how I could make it clear, because I couldn't figure out how to use the hanger that warpspeed sent with the Y-pipe.

As a test, I bunched up some muffler mending tape and then put it between the Y-pipe and the sway bar, and the noise was gone until I took it out again.
Reading the warpspeed site didn't help, "replace the factory hanger between Y-pipe and Cat with the one provided...". The hanger looks nothing like the factory one (factory hanger is wider).

Anyway, if anyone knows a fix, I'd love to know.

Hey, how did you tighten that one bolt for the rear exhaust manifold-to-y-pipe? There is this one bolt that seems to be behind the y-pipe. None of the factory bolts were behind the factory Y-pipe, so I just used a socket wrench with extension to remove it. I used a socket torque wrench to tighten it except that one bolt. I had to use a box wrench, and I don't think I put nearly enough torque because I do hear a bit of "putt, putt" when accelerating (sounds little like old beetle engine).

how are your engine mounts?

The mounts are bad.
Front passenger side mount was replaced 3 months ago. I was at work, and my wife took it into a goodyear, and they told her that it needs to be replaced. I have no time over summers, so I ended up getting it done.

I have replaced the driver's and passengers CV joints with new ones. After I pulled them and installed them, the steering would jerk upon acceleration (seemed like severe torque steer). I may have ruptured already dying engine mounts when I was trying to remove/install axel seals...

Anyway, how would I tell if the mounts are dead? I looked at the front driver's side and the rubber bushings look intact (no visible cracks). I haven't really looked at the rear or the tranny mounts.

I am guessing that the mounts are in need of replacement.

Unfortunately, my knowledge of cars is limited, and it's kinda hard to work on the car when you are watching an 18-month old. Anyway, besides time, like I said, my knowledge is limited (am a biochemist who is taking time off and teaching science at afternoon tutoring centers so wifey can get masters degree).

Well, sad story for my car. It's a '92 GXE with everything except leather and HUD that my mother purchased new. For all its life, it was pampered (She took it to service like clockwork). Even 3 years ago, the service manager would remark on how the car looks like it's rolled off the showroom... Then comes my younger sister. While working in Bronx, NY, she street parked the car and forgot about it for long periods of time. The car was covered upto windows in NYC salty snow, door panels kicked in by people who were upset at her (she parks like an idiot), etc...

The car was so dead that it wouldn't even start. She called me and told me that she wants to get rid of it, so I went to NY (from NJ), and replaced distributor cap, rotor and plugs. I drove the car home, and while backing into the driveway, the front strut coilspring stay BROKE OFF from severe rust. I ended up replacing the sturts (front and rear), new brakes (front/rear), new control arms, new outer CV joints. All this done by me (during Novemeber of last year in bitter cold) except the passenger side control arms (couldn't remove outer tie rod joint) and rear struts.

Last time I worked (in November), I stopped when I got stuck on the right control arm. The steering shimmy after all that work kinda busted my self-confidence. I did replace the Y-pipe this spring, but I have now exhaust noises, which is really driving me up the wall.

As far as I see it, it still needs:
motor and tranny mounts replaced
rear sway bar bushing is ruptured (local shop quoted $60 to press new on in)
Told that AC condenser is apparently leaking (but at $1000 repair bill, didn't do it), but AC is still cold.

Front driver's fender needs to be replaced (hit and run). Have new driver's door painted (it's actually mounted to side of my garage), but haven't had help to put it on.

It's kinda frustrating that I've helped two of my friends with their CV joints, electrical, brake and suspension replacements, and at the time they are all like, "yeah, yeah, we'll help you with your car", but then nothing...

Anyway, enought about rambles. Wife wants to get rid of the 3rd gen, but I am too attached. Engine sounds strong, and tranny still shifts as smooth as my '01 Pathfinder (despite the fluid was never replaced by my sister for 50k miles).

Anyway, just want all the folks here to know (especially Jeff92SE, Matt93SE, Wiking, internetautomar, Aaron92SE, DanNY, MrGone to name a few) how many times your guys helped me. There was a dude named kaleb here once? I think he worked for courtesy nissan, whatever happened to him?

Anyway, can someone tell me how I can tell if a motor mount is dead? should there be visible cracks in the bushing?

Take care everyone, and thank you

I think if you your funds are short, then Dan's recommendation here sounds best... Plus, the Y-pipe to cat converter bolts are a pain to remove...
