bent rim and stuck valve stem

well like I put in my last thread I had a flat while driving down the highway. when I took it off I saw a nail in it and I assumed thats why it went flat. well today I took it to bob sumerel tire to get it pluged.

first they took the tire off to take off the valve stem because they said that the valve stem was stuck open and to see if the nail went all the way through the tire because they said that the nail wasnt causing it to leak

when they got the rim off it was really corroded where the tire and rim meet. the nail didnt go all the way through the tire so they replaced the valve stem and went to balance the tire and it was leaking on the back side.

they took the tire off and sanded all of gunk off of the rim hoping that was what was causing the leak. it wasnt. guess the rims bent. he turned it on the wheel balancer and you could tell that it was bent. I dont know how the rim got bent. I didnt hit anything and it went flat all of a sudden.

now I have to get a stock rim. this just has not been my week.

there arent many boneyards around that I know of. I found one but it was about an hour away and they didnt have many maximas. I wanted a set of after market rims but not this soon. I cant really afford them right now.

If you lived close, I'd just give you one. Maybe I'll just recycle mine.

I guess Im going to have to find someone on here to sell me one and ship it to me. I wouldnt care what it really looked like as long as it matched and wasnt bent

I called the junk yard and they said they didnt have any maxima rims. they said that if they did have one it would only be $35 wish they had one

when it rains it pours I just dont know how I ben the rim. I never hit any curb or pot hole. and I cant figure out why out of no where it just went flat. I always check my tire pressure and a week ago it had 32psi in it. I guess it could have been the valve stem stuck open but then why would a bent rim hold tire pressure.

I guess I could have bent it when I had to crossed the highway from the fast lane to the sholder with a flat tire.

well I went out and checked the tire pressure and its still holding air. it was set to 33psi at the tire shop and its still at 33psi according to my digital gauge. I saw it leaking at the tire shop. this is strange.
