Quick engine question
Quick engine question
Hey -
Do the VG and VE engines have the same crank/block? I've got a guy that's looking for a crankshaft for his '90 300zx (non-turbo VE) and he wanted to buy one of my 'spare' VG engines. He knows what he's got to do to his, I just need to know if it is the same block.

nope some 300's have the VG30E Im not sure which ones exactly but the vg30e is in some 300's. I read on one site the guy put a vg in from a 93 gxe in his.
dont know if you know this but the 89-91 se's and all gxe's had the VG30E and the 92-94se's had the VE30DE. you have the VG30E in your max.

I know what engine I have, and what engines came in what year Maxima's, I just wanted to know if the 1990 Maxima and the 1990 300zx (NON-TURBO) use the same block/crank. That's it. That's all I need to know. If it's the same block, then I can sell one to this guy....

my replies were only meant to inform not insult.
I know some people search and just in case they do, I want to be sure they don't get the idea of using the VE in a Z32
I wonder how it would work
