I think this mod I did to my 4th gen will work for you guys...

I did a mod to my car which allows me to fold the rear seat up for transporting large items. I also did a write-up. Well, I'm not 100% sure, I'm just taking an educated guess but I think this mod might just be possible on a 3rd gen.

Sorry, I don't feel like typing everything over again so I will just link you guys to my thread in the fourth gen. forum.

If the mod doesn't work, I appologize. But I figured it was worth at least alerting you guys to the possibility. Thanks.

- Josh

P.s. Direct link to the .pdf write-up on VQPower.com

P.s.s. I think this is my first time ever posting in the 3rd gen forum - it feels kinda good actually.

Clever, but i think our backseats come out easy anyway so it seems like a bit much to me, nice work anyway thats a pretty good writeup.

I can take out my back seat in about 10 minutes, maybe less. It's a little longer to get my sub box out.

I hauled a complete exhaust (uncut) from the cat back inside my Maxima without the back seat or passenger seat.

It is loud as hell with no back seat in it. That's just temporary for emergencies. I drove that exhaust all the way to MrGone's house, about 3.5 hours each way.

No sir, removing the metal plate behind the seat does not increase the sound level alone. When you fold the seat up to temporarily transport something then yes the noise level rises but when the seats are in closed position there is no increase in sound.

yup I did the same when I had to carry fruit trees in my car from San Diego. When I first got the car, I kinda envied friends that had hondas, and other cars where the rear seat can come down by pushing a button or lifting a flap..But then when I found this site, I realized I could do the same with about 10 minutes of work.. I love the org
