pic of 3rd gens on 18 or even 19's

Im looking to get some new rims for my max. I have a set of racing rims and tires for the track and racing............. Ok im lowered about 1.5 t0 1.75 too. I have 225/45/17 on it now with realy no rubbing problems. I dont care if I have to go down to like 35 series tire i just want to fill the wheel welds up. So what the bigest rim do you think will go on my car with out any cutting. let me see them pics of your cars and let me know if you are lowered.

im lowered 1.7 inches on intrax and i am running 235/40/18 tires and they rubbed in the back ever so slightly, so i folded the underlip (or whatever you want to call it) so that it didnt rub my tire. i know jeff ran 225/40/18s and didnt rub when he was lowered 1.2 on eibachs. I only rubbed if i hit a big bump, so i would assume 225/40 would not rub at all.

big picture, but shows how nice it fills.

not a big picture, but shows how flush i am with the body.

this one is a pretty big pic, but it shows how well it fills the wells.

im on g35 coupe rims which are 18x8 all around with a +30mm offset

i can get you a set (OEM) if you want for around 450 with no tires......

before you worry too much on rubbing i had 215/40/17 and the rubbed only when i turned all the way and hit a bump and thats with 2.5 Eibach lowering springs. of course my stock tires do the same and i only have 205/60/15 for stock.

It seems that the consensus would be to go with an 18" wheel.

I haven't seen a pic posted that doesn't look good.

18's are the perfect size. However if you want it filled the whole way then you should get 19's. Expressinme's 20's looked pretty good but i think he had alot of rubbing.

Well I have to agree on that 18 look real good on a 3rd gen max. I think 19 are nice but if you lived where i live you have to keep ion mind of pot hole and bumps in the road. less side wall more prone you are to cracking a rim. So 17's are safe 18's are border and 19's and up you will probly end up breaking a rim. But dam if they don't look good on. But to be honest I'll still end buying a set of 19's
