How in the crap do you get the rear deck speakers out of a 90 GXE?

I think I might have a bad altenator I replaced it about 2 months ago and everything seemed to be fine but in the last week when I get on it the battery light and brake light would come on...and now its just the reverse it stays on all the time and goes off when I get on it.

any suggestions?

you have to remove the rear seat (vertical part)

and then to pull-up the deck (fastened in place with plastic clips)

you'll have access to the speaker then...

for the electrical trouble, my guess would be grounded wires...i've had this kind of troubles last winter, and i've found that i had about 7-8 wires that grounded partially with the frame of the car... (mine were located under the carpet, near the driver seat)

I'm pretty sure you got to take the back seat out to get the speakers out of a 90 max.....

Check the wiring on the alt...If it is ok then take it back to where you got it..You should have a warranty....

I don't know about the speakers as I have all SE's, but check your alternator belt tension first. It may have come a little loose. It's not uncommon for new devices to go bad early either.

Two 10mm bolts behind the armrest and two more 10mm bolts (one on each side) of the lower half of the rear cushion near the door. After that, there are several clips holding the seat down -- you have to yank the seat up out of them.

the back seats are sooo easy to take out. After I get mine out, i felt embarassed that I had even asked.

Cliff's right though. No bolts holding down the bottom cushion, 4 bolts on the back cushion. You're probably going to want to take out that metal thingy too, but that's just 2 bolts.

Good luck on the speaker swap. What are you putting in?
