Clutch bracket broken? Slave cylinder? Need clutch help

1993 Maxima SE VE5spd

I was driving earlier tonight, when I noticed when I pushed in my clutch, it took me almost no effort, (NO PRESSURE IN THE PEDAL AT ALL) yet it was still allowing me to shift. As I came to a 4-way intersection, it got worse and the clutch pedal went all the way to the floor (leaving me stuck in front of 4 or 5 cars, plus a cop). I couldnt put it in gear at all because the clutch wasn't engaging (?)

I pushed my car on to the side of the road and was trying to figure out what it could be:

IIRC Chris's (Cliff Clavin) clutch bracket broke, anyone else had this happen and/or know the symptoms?

I figured that I had ran out of fluid in the clutch cylinder, and after getting a ride home (in the back of the police car) I got my DOT3 brake fluid and got a ride to my car, I put it in but it didn't do anything. The only way I could get the car in gear was when it was off, so I shut my car off and put it in first but the car wouldn't start like that (seemed like it wanted to, but it was bogged down or something I can't really explain).

The towtruck driver said something about bleeding the clutch, but I'm not sure how to do this or if it would help.

If anyone has any suggestions or help I'd greatly appreciate it...it's Saturday night and I have to be back to work on Monday, hoping I can get this figured out...thanks to all who contribute!

If it was out of fluid, then find out where it is leaking from.... It's either the master cylinder or the slave cylinder...
