I used the stopwatch on my cell phone, and it came out to 9.23 sec. I always wondered why magazines decide to use 0-60 times. Why not 50 or 70, why 60? Anybody know?

cause it's a nice round number.

0-100km/h comes out roughly the same, since 100kph is 62mph.

Im thinken it's a bit too slow even for that mileage aside from it bein an Auto. There is a VG 5spd in another recent thread here, that makes your VE look like a slouch.

Hey, mine was doing that this morning. Interesting too, as I need some new suspension real bad and it seems to ride alot smoother at that speed. Of course, I've only had it for a couple weeks, so I'm still getting to know it. Liking it better every day.

Yeah... my Maxima runs best at about 105.
it's strange.. 30-40-50 mph it's twitchy and darty and bouncy as hell. road noise is crazy.. but get it up to about 95 or 100 and it starts to get quiet again. at 105, it's so quiet that you can hear yourself breathe, and the ride is smooth as glass.

my camaro with all of it's original suspension intact and tires that were nearly as old as the car did 120 and the ride was PERFECT and it handled beautifully.
of course these days I realize that I'm lucky to be alive after doing 120mph on 10yr old (maybe more) tires that were rated for 85mph

I found something on the net that is supposed to calculate 0-60 times somewhat accurately.

http://www.wallaceracing.com/0-60_equation.php

I don't know how accurate it really is, but it's probably close. Mine came out to around 5.4s

I don't know man, I've taking mine DSM to over 135mph, and I was running out of room on my tach, and that's with 5 speed. With 4 speed automatic, you'd be lucky to get 120. By the way, my DSM ran 1/4 mile under 13 seconds. It took a lot of work, and money to get it to run over 140 mph. But I did keep its AWD and the original tranny. Seems like the most of the cars hit their best at about 120-130mph, to get it to run faster than that takes some magic. There are plenty of cars that can run a lot faster than that, my friends NSX did way over 150, and it was still going. I guess that gears have a lot to do with it as well. But after all, there is no highway where I live where you can take it over 150mph, not within Seattle city limits, anyways.

It's possible. I ran against some random guys modded m3 and he told me I hit the limiter around 140. This was at 3am on the interstate and about 5 miles of space between the next car. My VG had about 200k miles at the time.

There is a magazine that comes out once a year (I think). It's called 140, or 140+, something like that. You'd be surprised how many cars that you would expect to run over 140, don't. Back in '97 they couldn't include the Mustang, because it wouldn't go over 135. They had to put tape over headlight, and all kinds of stuff to make it more airodenamic to get it to 140. Still, there was enough cars that did make it over 140 to make a whole magazine. To bad no average guy could never afford any of those. Now days things have changed, though. Last few years I've been amazed with how many nice cars came out . It's like early Ninties all over again, but way better. These horsepower figures are crazy. Just think about this, back in 1993 one had to put out $30K for a brand new v-tec Prelude, now you can get an Evo for that much. I don't know how they do it, but I hope these good times lasts. Emagine few years down the road, what you'll be able to buy for $10-15K, slightly used. I better start saving up.

x2 seems kinda weird, I've done 115 with my Max easily but never wanted to push it farther than that.

I did 122 and ran out of straight high way. It was a blast, and it kept pulling. That was my first max with 166K miles. I pegged the speedo and went past but it was 4-5mph fast.

By the way, don't Nissans have speed limiters? I know my 240sx did. I don't remember how high it was, it's been over 10 years, it might've been at 130. I've taking my '90 maxima se to 120, so I know they go that fast.
