I believe its all gonna be about drifting. If so, prepare to see groups of ricers trying to drift in parking lots and around corners. When that movie comes out in theaters, I wanna take a video camera and sit in the parking lot and capture all them ricers/wannabe revvvin their engines after the movie...pfff they dont impress me

Very good point. But to some of us, unfortunatly, nothing can compare with the 90s. True beauty and performance like that only comes once in history. Supra, 300ZX, RX7, 3000GT, NSX, so far and so fourth. This shiney crap that rolls out of the showrooms these days will never compare to what was. All thats gotten better are the interiors and the technology, but the spirit just isn't there for me anymore, and pretty much all of the styling is uninspired for some strange reason. Just futuristic lookin, but empty.

Anyway, I personally have tried to make my GXE go past 123, and it just wasn't happening, so thats pretty amazing that you guys go way past that. Guess somethin was wrong with mine

ive had my max up to 140-145. i was paying more attention to the road than the speedometer. i will have to get new shocks before i try that again. i was driving in idaho and the roads are so unlevel that my car actually left the pavement for a moment around 105 mainly cause my shocks are bad, but the roads are horrible.

I dopn't know how you guys get it to over 140 mph, when the ECU is electronicly controlled at 127 mph (or 137 mph, I don't remember exactly), according to factory manual. You can check it out yourself, I tried it, and it shot me off at 127 (or 137) just like it says!

This is all well and fine we all get on our cars from time to time and all don't have the money and or time to go to the track...., but if you are gonna mess around on the street keep 3 things in mind, for the love of GOD or anything u believe...1) Get a nice set of tires, (it is the best money I spend at 100 a tire for my Kumho 215\45\ZR17's, 2) Don't have anybody in the car if you are going to kill urselfs that is all well and fine, don't take out others with you, and 3) Not that it would help but I was gonna say I hope you guys are all wearing seatbelts... but now thinking about it at that speed your car would be a 3 ton 10X10 Cube. Not to give a speech or anything... anybody feeling this? ~Charlie~

Hey I gotta say some people truly have the need for speed, I consider myself one of those people, and its sad because I have no money to have my car faster or a faster car. I cant stand freaking speed limit..Have you ever gone that fast? if not you should try it, I'v done "130mph" on mine I say that with quotes because the needle was past the 125 and seemed like I was still gaining speed, anyway it can be suicidal if you dont speed responsibly

I have had mine on 240km/h on the speedo a couple of times. I do not know how fast it is irl, but according to the manual it is supposed to go 237 km/h so at least 220 I suppose

1400kg, 122Kw and 237kmh just doesn't compute.

237kmh = 147mph.
240kmh = 149mph.

just the other day me and my friend where in the saab, we went 140, and still had a good pull, but the ecu cuts out at 144, and if you go that then the warrenty is void, it was very, fun, very fast, i love that car it handles soooooooo dang good.

Wow, are you seriose? Do you have the FSM on hand to tell me what section/page? This is quite interesting.. I was playin with my friends 06' 330i a few months ago, and with the VE I easily hit 135mph and she kept pulling hard, but pulled off cause it was getting dangerous. He told me his BM cut off at 130

Edit: I have a feeling some of us second/third/fourth/etc. hand owners maybe missing these controlled speed limits without even knowing, from previose owners wanting to go that much faster. If these electronically controlled cut-offs do exist.

I'm not aware of there being any cutoff other than the rev limiter.
of course I will probably never find out as I happen to like my life and I've done enough stupid stuff like that to last a lifetime , which I'm just lucky didn't end prematurely

Lower end bimmers cut off at 128 while larger, more expensive ones will go 155. I tested this theory way back on prom night in highschool with a 740i.

i have done quite a few stupid things in my time, wrecked my motorcycle at 90, was very lucky. BUt i try to make sure that there arent other people around when i speed and what not, and of course always have my seatbelt on. When i got my max up in the 140 area i was trying to see if it had a cutoff. will have to test again to be sure once i have the suspension upgraded.

237kmh is the top speed according to nissan in the manual that comes with the car.´

The specs on my swedish se is:
125kw 1350kg (with all fluids, full tank and driver)

Probably still doesn´t compute but as i said i think it goes somwhere around 220km/h maybe less, all I can do is look at the speedo and guess how wrong it is

I think the reason the maxima goes quite fast is that the drag coefficient is 0.33. Its better than most cars from the early nineties
