the otto is like 50 bucks...just seems like a lot of effort...

the otto and other bars out there are either buttressed by some kind of bracing or truss...and some of them are solid pieces as opposed to your proposed hollow bar. i don't think you'll have the desired effect from your DIY FSTB. any experience wedling aluminum?

Gotta love the kid for trying tho. Get the tranny, if you still want a FSTB then wait and get the OTTO, its great construction, installation, and looks great too.

buy one of alex's trannies, even if you wanted a 5 speed you can still look for one but $50 plus shipping is really good. and just buy an ebay bar if you want one they are $20 shipped, but be warned the best thing that i have noticed about my bar is that it is useful to grab onto when i am leaning over the engine bay.

I remember when my tranny went, all I could think about is how I was going to get the thing fixed.....like someone said, it's kind of not worth to spend any money on modding till you get the thing going

Be smart.. buy both of the dudes trannies so you have a spare, especially at only 50 bucks.

Personally, I've got two spare VE 5spd trannies... just cuz I can.
