Hit a Median...........

Last Sunday night I hit a median and busted one of my racing hart wheels(very rare and are no longer being made).

I was driving straight, going the speed limit, looked down to change a cd for a 1/2 a second, looked up and BAM!! (a median appeared out of no where), then I saw parts of my left, front wheel bouncing across the road.
The road was messed up (still somewhat my fault). It looked like this:
,I
,I
,^__
:^
:^
:

^= my car
:= dotted line separating two way road
__= intersction
I= median
,= nothing

Not a good representation but hopefuly it makes sense.

Before-

After-

The first pic looks good. Sorry for the loss... and no replacement for one wheel?

What was your speed? I suppose what happened, could have been lots worse. One may ask how many accidents must happen there before the trap is taken off...

One q: how was the handling (speed?) after tire was empty, was there a curve?

Wheels are very rare and discontinued (17x7.5, 15lbs).

I was goin 35-40 mph and the road was completely straight. As soon as it hit I swerved so I wouldn't hit the rear wheel and then proceeded to the shoulder where AAA towed me home.

Buy a Rota Subzero and spraypaint it gold . Good luck, my wheels are the same as yours (rare and discontiuned), and I freak out whenever I hit a large pothole.

Man those things just fly out into the road... they're as bad as deer. Sue the city.

Hey at least you're alright. While I was in Iraq we had one guy hit a barrier on its side with a Nissan Pickup, about broke his arm. I went out there because I was in charge of the vehicles. He hit that sucker so hard he shoved the radiator into the hood. I looked at the dirt, and from the marks and skids in it, and he's lucky the vehicle didn't flip over the barrier.

Dang, that sucks.

I sent my bent centerline to wheels america in San Fran (found on FixRim.com via a previous post by Matt) and they couldn't fix it -- they did ship it back for free, though.

Here is the damage to mine:

I think your best bet is to call every tire store in the area that carried those wheels and see if they have any old stock. I would also check ebay and some other sites that might have people with the same rims. Since yours are painted, you might be able to find one that is the same style, just a different color and have it painted professionally to match your other three.

Ouch! Sorry to hear that. Those situations when you can't get pissed and blame someone or something else suck!!!

Subzero's are replicas of these (racing hart cp-35). Subzeros are heavier and look slightly different. Though they do make subzeros in gold (might not match perfectly). I'm not exactly sure what I'm gonna do yet.

I don't have a donut (have too much stereo equipment; no room). I'm actually getting some stockers at the meet.

Does that mean I'll have the most powerful stereo?
