I got an ebay one. Not THAT one, but the one that is listed for my year. That there is 2000 and up. Just because it's for a newer maxima doesn;t mean anything but improper fitment.

You can get one of those that is 3rd gen specific for about the same price. Keep looking...

Since you have a VG engine, you don't need to buy the 2000+ FSTB. You can buy the ebay one that says it's for a 3rd gen -- it is straight. The one you linked moves up to avoid the upper intake plenum on the DOHC VE engine (same thing for the 2000+ DOHC engine that it is actually designed for).

Something like this:

SOHC FSTB

The ebay bars are all about =....

The worst problem with ebay bars are availability= you buying it, then they email you saying they are out of stock so you have to wait 6 to 8 weeks for the bar, or a refund...

It happened to me...

to tell you the truth, I don't think that bar this thick, with one bolt holding it on each side, would make much difference. May be for looks? You have to admit, though, this isn't the best looking one out there, neither. You might wanna save that $20 for gas.

it does make a difference, and it's a difference that you can actually feel in your handling. I myself have an ebay bar installed, and I can tell you this, I take 35mph rated corners at speeds up to 55 (out of habit), with very little body lean/roll. So for LESS than 20 bucks, I think it would be safe to say that it won't hurt much to give it a try.

I agree on the looks, my friend has a Stillen that costed him like $120
or more and its very nice but if this one does the job for less I might just get it for now, besides I dont plan on makin my car a show car. Disgruntled seems to be happy with his so I'm gonna go ahead and place the order...NOW

with a fstb installed the car just feels much more solid in a turn and seems to respond better
if your looking for a low cost bar that will perform well go with an ebay style (hollow)
if you want the best performing bar go with the stillen or otto(solid)
personally i think the otto is the same bar as the stillen just half the price
