What mm is the throttle body of my VE? Do other, larger throttle bodies from other Nissans bolt on?Like from the 300ZX or others. What years, models? Has any one done this mod and if so results? BTW thanks Jeff92SE, the throttle body you sold me quite a while ago was finally installed, bent my old one when I slid under a truck last summer. The new one is so much smoother, and seems more responsive as well. Or am I suffering from the "modders dream"It's new, It cost alot of money, I just know my car is faster?

I could have sworn that I heard that the throttle body off the 300ZX is adaptable to our cars but please don't quote me on this. I thought I remembered reading a post that someone did this.

You just put that one Dan?? I sold you that TB about 5 months ago! hehe.

Well, the Z32 TB won't work. They are too small. Maybe the Z31 ones will but I kinda doubt they are larger. Maybe the turbo versions. The only other one that I know is larger is the Q45. It's about 70mm vs our 60-65mm or so stock one. I don't know if it fits or not.

I know someone sent their stock one to RC engineering or somewhere to have their stock one enlarged. Results?? I don't know.

ASP does TB bores for the VE, I think Candiman recently got his done. wouldn't the VG be a little more difficult since it is a dual "butterfly" type? how much more could be bored out??

Its not a dream.....

Long ago I upgraded my stock 54mm TB to a 60mm TB from a 89-91 240sx. The thing is that the increased area of the bigger throttle body has the same effect as more opening of the stock TB. In simplier words my 60mm TB at 82% throttle has the same flow as the stock 54mm at WOT. This mod made my car's throttle response alot sharper, hell it took me about 3-5 days to adjust to it . Anyone else that drove the car after the mod noticed right away. Now you probably didn't gain any power at WOT outside of 1-2hp. But the gain in throttle response and fuel economy is more than worth the cost . My TB was $50 so I was happy. I believe Bryan H had his bored to 71mm and his intake collector port matched.
