Hi!

Hmmm, I have yellow dot injectors, I have an extra green dot rail for 1993-1994 models. The harnesses look alike, whereas the injector port heads look different.

The green dot rail was out of an early-production 1993 model.

Bottom line question: Can I swap green injectors into a car originally fitted with yeloe dots? The harnesses look the same!

Thanks to anyone who can confirm!

I am still curious what the difference is. Is one kind more high-performance than the other?

For the record, they do not sell different colored dots anymore. Its one type, one part #.

resistance values as well as spray pattern and flow rate. I don't have the exact specs handy though.

93 and 94 VGs still have 2 seperate injector #s 89-92 VGs were combined to 1 number. and 92-99 DOHCs are another #

Hmmm, but the ohmage specs is still 10-14 ohms for both dots, right? I'm guessing yes.

I'm sorry, but I'm a totally new to my Maxima. I just got it a couple of days ago. Where are these green/yellow dots located on the injectors?

Hey, welcome to the club, fellow Ontarian. I don't think your engine has any dots on your injectors, but on the base engines, you need to pull off the injector harnesses and you will see an inkling of either green or yellow.

The 92-94 se has the dohc engine...the injectors on this engine are solid red...

The 89-94 sohc gxe engine has the brown casing with different colored dots on them the specify flow rates...

im sorry I dont see any diffrance in the dots. I ran three green dot 370cc and 3 yellow dot 370cc and its fine for me. I say as long as they ohm the same it will work. they may spray differant due to diffrant ends but it going to give you the same fuel.

Hello all,
Kinda on this topic...I think. Have a 91 Maxima DOHC got it with a rod thru the oil pan, got a 94 engine and installed it. Everything was the same except the fuel inj., wiring harness on the 91 would not fit the injs. on the 94 engine, so I swapped the fuel rail and injectors, The car will start and idle good, will rev up in park, but put it in gear and put the pedal to the floor, the car will move, but slowly, like you are not giving it a lot of gas....any help thanks alot oh yeah I can move the wires on the injectors and it will make the engine spit and sputter

1. you have a SOHC motor , 1 cam per head
2.the injectors and harnesses are different from 91 to 94 so I recommend swapping back to the 91 injectors and harness.

1. yes 1 cam per head, new to this, so I was thinking that, that made it a DOHC thanks for the correction
2. I put the 91 injectors in the 94 engine, if I move around any of the wires on the injectors the engine starts missing.

1. ok, that's a VG30E aka the SOHC motor
2. did you remember to put the clips that lock the injectors to the harness back in?
