VG Air Box Question !!

My 1989, VG, se max's air box has a screw whole on the back side of it, and the screw hole faces up it is for a 10 mm screw. It is molded to the top half of the air box housing.

What in the world is it for ?!?!

Should it have a 10 mm screw in it or shold there be nothing in the screw whole?

Thanks in Advanced !!

1. Top/Bottom part???

2. Hole is through or airflow blocked???

All air has to go through filter. As said, W/O pics, not possible to know wassup, ... tape/screw/block it and listen. If u gain hp, then its
your turbo screw that has drpped.

I need 12pcs 20-30mm bolts to block the holes... But I will not choke my hungry horses.

see details at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/2

It's just a spot for a clip on the MAF wiring harness to secure to. They break off and are missing on alot of cars. (spot 2)

It is spot # 1 I am talking about but it looks a liitle different on a vg air box.

Wiking I know you have a pic of your airbox looking straight down with it installed in the car

If you post that pic you would see the screw hole!

Anyone know what it is for?

Thanks.............

It's been a while since i have had the factory airbox on there, but i'm pretty sure it is mounting screw for the resonator box....

Should it have the screw in place since it sucks in air after the filter?

I think it should

Wiking post one of your great pics!

The screw hole in that pic is between the air surge tank and the air box top half.

Thanks for the help!
