Ok it seems like everyone who has a Max has a Jim Wolf POP charger.. I have no idea what it does besides help the air intake, does it make a noticeable difference? Is it easy to install? oh yeah and its cheap right, like 30$? Anyways thanks for the info

I am not sure where you are getting your information. I bought my Pop Charger from JWT and it was $190.

Damn $190...

last summer I got mine from Courtesy $90-100 shipped! but there is no need to go all out and get a JWT..there are plenty other intakes out there for A HELL OF A LOT LESS!!! for example at lightningmotorsports.com, you can get a K&N w/ Maf adapter for $60-70 plus shipping! Ractive filters are also as low a $35! but there is no where you'll find a JWT Pop for $30, unless its possibly used! frankly for the prices they are now the JWT pop is a comlete ripoff IMO!!

First off, I feel like an idiot then, but that is how much they are retailing for now. Price increase? I think so!

also, what the hell does IMO mean?

I don't mind cutting holes and everything, but the rain here sucks, and I don't want a screwed engine.

you really don't need to worry about rain, AEM makes a cool bypass valve that allows your filter to work even if the filter is underwater. just thought you might wantto know.

i made my own for 25 bucks. they sell cone filters like what is on the JWT pop charger at pep boys for 25 bucks. then i used the inner metal bracket that mounts to the maf filter housing and bolted it on up. some bending was required, but it can all be put back if i want to later.

It has the same horsepower and the cool intake noise above 3k like the JWT? If so, I found my project for the day!
Thanks

suggested retail is $159 on the JWT intake, so you're paying MORE than retail. I'll mail over some Vaseline for you next time just kidding.

If you really want the CAI I'd get the Warp Speed Performance one. It's only $140 and very good quality.

I made my own "PopCharger." As said before, take a conical filter, make an adapter and bolt it on. Just take a small square piece of aluminum or metal and cut a 3 inch hole in the center. Place it over the part that connects to the Mass Airflow Sensor and line the holes up. Mark 'em and drill them out of the metal. Next place a piece of 3inch diameter pipe on the adapter and spot weld it together. Attach the filter. Bolt onto the airflow sensor. Easy. Done. 30 minutes tops.

mine is even simpler than that! i just drilled out the rivits from the fitting in the airbox, where the MAF tube meets the airbox. then i bent the inside tube a little (cause it flares out, had to straighten it) and just popped the cone on. the nuts and holes were already there! then i used the original bolts and bolted her back up. I'm posting a pic in a minute here.

Just wanted to give credit where credit is due. This idea was originally sent to me via e-mail by Matt93GXE. 'Preciate it.
