Opinions wanted... G35 coupe Muffler

I was behind a G35 coupe today and I really like the Muffler with the 2 outlets. The G35 looks smaller at the rear of the Max, but through reasearch I find the the G35 is a full 2.5 inches wider. So the scale is about right. Anyone oput there think its even possible to fit a G35 Muffler to a 3rd Gen Max??

As MyGreenMax said, therealgoon has a G35 muffler on his max. But he had to cut out the spare tire well IIRC. not something I would be willing to sacrifice..but thats just me

I have no regrets, and I love the sound I get from it.
Basically you need to remove the spare tire well. Remove the tail pipe(resonater too) and muffler. Mount the g35 muffler with hangers. And I got a shop to bend a pipe from the cat to the muffler. Oh the pipe i got bent was 2.5 from cat to the muffler.

Here's a pic of the whole needed. NOTE: That ugly pipe was a temp to get the car to a muffler shop.

I don't have a spare either... couple cans of fix-a-flat. Unless I go on a road trip. In atlanta there's a tire shop every half block.. heh...

There was one other on the .org that put on a 350z muffler. He complained about it being too bassy, but I'm sure he had a leak in his flex pipe.

Got the muffler off g35driver.something

note:350z and g35 muffler are the same dimensions. the 350 is more bassy because of the note they design it for. The g35 is still a little bassy yet alot more throaty. It sounds great on an idle and really sounds muscle when you really get on the gas.

just like TheRealGoon9's instructions,... cut the spare well which is not too hard... and just seal it up... and if you take it to a junkyard... it'll cost you around 100~120$

Well that is something to consider. I've only had my Max for a year and have had to use the spare once after a blowout on the highway. I think my front right ( currently left rear , rotation and all) has a ding in the bead causing chronic slow leaks. But I do love how it looks... ahhhhh the decisions!!!

You CAN just put your spare in your trunk.

IT's a wings west kit. I'm going to had to modify it a little. The pipes are closer than the holes.

The well is one of the many forms adding to chassis rigidity. How was that flex tackled?

Waiting to see smbdy making doublepiping all the way...

Your max rear looks are cool!

Thanks Wiking. There is bit more flex than what there was. I'm still running around trying to find a good price on tube steel or round steel to make some sort of vertical H brace to atleast stock any flex in the suspension area.

I love the sound 350Zs and G35 make, I always put my window down when I drive next to them and always tell my g/f "man I love that sound" I think she's getting annoyed by that comment. I'd say go for it if you have the resources and time. I probably would too although I wouldn't like to cut that little space for my spare.

If you dont mind sacrificing that, GO FOR IT and let us know how it went for you
