Parallel link bushings...

Two quick questions.

1. Are these worth it? http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchan...t_Code=7-3117G

and

2. Are they compatable with any of the bigger aftermarket links??

1. yes they're worth it.
1a. I sell them for cheaper.

2. other aftermarket links? the only ones I know of are mine, and no.. they're not compatible since I replace the bushings with heim joints.

I run those bushings. Easy to do and you get to play with fire! I happened to have an extra adjustable set around so I have 2 adjustables on each side. To match the lengths of the originals I put the long bolt though both and matched the lengths. You may have to cut off some brackets if your adjustables came from an abs equipped car.

Your rattle is probably worn out sway bar support links/brackets. The links feature small lubed ball joints that get worn out and rattle over time. Buy matt's sway bar links. I make stuff myself all the time and there's no way I could do this cheaper. hehe

I don't have the bushings listed on my site yet, but I carry all the ES bushings available for the Maximas.
I have about 5 sets of the parallel bushings in stock for $40 a set. (plus $5 shipping)

I also have the RSB links in stock as well. they're common to rattle when they wear out or break. (if you have an aftermarket bar, the stockers WILL break!)

No, I dont have a rear sway bar. The end brushing pulled out somehow, so I took the whole thing out. I'm going to pick up a stock replacement at a junkyard over thanksgiving break.

So Matt, this sort of a loaded question, but what would you reccomend, the ES bushings or your replacement??

IMHO it depends on how far you are planning to take the suspension. Full bore, tats out? Then maybe buck up for the end linked rods. I went with the bushings and I was pretty happy with the results. But people have reported loving Matt's p-links also.

Exactly what Jeff said.
the heim joints do make some noise at low speeds and on bumpy roads.. but at highway speeds they're almost as quiet as stock, BUT the handling improvements are amazing- way more than the Energy bushings..

and my kit also includes the solid radius rod, and Energy doesn't sell bushings for it.

Come on man, why don't you get Matt's stuff and support a fellow .org'er? Besides, i've seen a video of Matt driving on track...and I would trust his opinion about vehicle handling.

I am ny no means trying to "call" Matt out or er whatever. Actually I have so much respect for his stuff that I consider him "the source". I just had not seen this particular product on his site. Furthermore if you go back and re-read my first post I pose the Q about weather or not his product is compatiable with "other" ie his, other suspension mods.

I already have Matt's ground kit, and believe me if it is an indecation of the quality of the rest of his stuff, you will see alot of it on my Max.

But thanks for playing

I don't think he meant it that way.. I think he was just prodding you to spend more money with me.

but umm yeah.. everything else I sell looks better than the ground kits.

Awwww Matt don;t be modest, your ground kit was Quality, just remember what I ended up doing, include that in your kit and up the price accordingly.

Oh and yes I'm sure you'll end up sending me 3 or 4 suspension goodies before it's over.

Matt,
How easy is this to replace your ES bushings? Is there a way I can pick them up when I in Houston on the Thanksgiving weekend.

Doug, the ES bushings aren't that bad. you need a press or a blowtorch to remove the old ones, then the new ones just squeeze in using a vise or pliers.

As for picking them up here, it depends on when you come down. I'm headed up to Oklahoma on tuesday sometime and will be coming back to Houston on Sunday. I'll be going directly through dallas though, so if you're still in town on Tuesday, we could meet somewhere along 45/75 and take care of it. otherwise the easiest thing to do is pay the extra $5 and ship them.

I didn't mean the ground kit was ugly... I meant the rest of the stuff looks even better!
The powdercoat on the tie bars is just gorgeous, and the rear links are all bright yellow zinc plated.
