I think i read something about one for sale in the f/s section, you might check that out.also i believe autozone will test your alt out for free if you just want to be sure.

I replaced my alternator last year for about $200 for the unit, and $150 for labor. All told it was about $360 to do at a shop.

I have a rebuilt VE alternator for sale in the classifieds section for $75 plus shipping. It hasn't been installed in a vehicle since it's been rebuilt, it's still in the box and everything.

I picked up a bosch remanufactured alt from Pepboys a couple of months ago for less than $100. Seems like a lot of my electrical issues are fixed after years of poor charging at idle.

First: Run for a 10$ multimeter to visualize the facts. U may have only oxidized connectors... 'Everyone' here curses reman alts, last one yr. I changed guts, cost was 120$. Stealership takes 800$ from new alt.

Alt swap doesnt help -IF- problem is here. Take pass side mud shield off, clean, add contact grease:

Sounds like a bad alternator. I just replaced mine. Do yourself a favor and buy one from internetautomart. I didn't want to wait on shipping and got one from Crapa. They gave me TWO defective ones before giving me a good one. It's not that hard to change one, but you are on your back under the car the whole time (at least with the VG).

After replacing that connector (a $3.50 part) I've been running fine and my battery has yet to die on me again (that was about 3 months ago).
Just something else you might want to look into.

Problems drop from the tree when the causes are ripe, wind blows or windows jams...

- battery can die faster than u can say 'snap' for no apparent reason.
- as honker said, corrosion may be where ever.

Typical nissan is rotten gnd cable under batt tray... luki luki the suggested pages...
