Fan speeds don't work except for highest setting....
#1
I have the push button HVAC controls so everytime you push the fan button, it goes faster. However, only the highest setting works.
I know that you can replace resistors to fix this but where are these resistors located? What part number would I need? I can't seem to find the correct ones in the control unit...would they be somewhere else? Any ever fixed this before?
Thanks,
Henry

the part that you need to replace is called the fan amplifier it is located just underneath the dash on the passenger side of the vehicle and has 3 or 4 wires going to it. I dont know what the resistor part number is to replace it is though.

What does this fan amplifier look like, or will it say that in big block letters!?!
Do I need to remove the glove compartment to get to it?
I'm thinking of just replacing the resistors, I'll probably have to get them from radio shack....
thanks....

real easy
you probally dont need a part number, just tell them what year and model and what not. As far as the removal, you might not need to take out the glove but i reccomend it it;'s not hard. if you are looking at your glove box, lookat the handle on the glove, right where the indent is for your fingers to get at the handle to open it, about a half inch down from there is where the relay is,behind the glovebox. it's the only one in the area beside's the intake sensor which is a little to the left and a little up maybe an inch or two away. goodluck

I popped out the glove and saw a couple of things. I saw a white looking thingy and it had all these metal prongs sticking outta it...what is this? Intake sensor?

the blower resistor is on the left of the blower motor.
under the dash right side passenger.
take the connector of and losen two screws ,take the
resistor with housing out completly.
you can see or smell if its burned.
get a used one at the junk, should be not expensive.
