hood adjustment

hood adjustment

is their any way to adjust the hood to keep it from bouning up and down when driving down the road. Like maybe tighten the hood latch where their is not as much play in it.

The rubber hood rests can be adjusted up to stop the hood from bouncing...Be careful when you twist them because they may break..[old rubber]

use liquid wrench on it before you adj it, it puts some oil in the rubber an it stays in it for a while. I also use it on hoses im removing. helps keep them from cracking so much

yeah those things are already gone off my car! (One is broke and one is missing.) Is their anything on the latch it self I can adjust?

That is why your hood is bouncing.....Adjusting latches is not going to fix it....The dealer sells them pretty cheap[$3-$5 a piece]

The ones on the hood are the ones that put the most pressure on the hood. They help make the hood pop up and keep it from bouncing.

Here are pictures of the bumpstops on the hood. I recomend replacing them and the ones on the radiator support...they arent expensive.
