well, I ask becuase I dont know if I should just wait for it to go out and then get another tranny or get a tranny then put it in when it breaks or just put another one in now before it breaks. I really dont want to rebuild mine b/c i've heard about so many problems with the rebuilt ones and i dont want another car.

When I built my VE, I used a crank from an auto. The auto crank has a round metal piece that fits onto the flange where the pilot bushing would go in a manual. I rented a blind hole puller from Autozone and it popped right out, nothing to it, took no more than a minute. Then the pilot bushing went right in. I didn't thik to get pics of that when I was building. I think you meant pilot bushing since the throw out bearing is clipped on the release fork.
Yeah, I meant the pilot bearing, not throw out.

I agree with the money part because I'm having mine rebuilt right now and it's gonna dig deep into my pockets and it's the holidays, so that doesn't help.
