VG-VE Speed Sensor

Are the VG and the VE 5speed, speed sensor enter-changable? I know the plugs are different but thats no big deal to me. Will it read the right speed for my VE tranny?

I'm guessing 5 spd and auto are different, because I had two sensors a guy gave me a while back and they were completely different animals. one was about 1" longer inside the tranny than the other. one was a VE auto and the other a VG 5 spd I think.. or something like that.

Auto sensors are shorter and I beleive the gear is cut in the opposite direction.

Did you just not hook up the speed sensor when you did the VE trans swap? I guess that solves the "broken speedo"
I cant believe I didnt think of swaping the sensor....I just cut and soldered the different connectors, DOH!
