well all you pretty much have to do is change motor mounts..... i can probably run all the wires from the ECU without cutting at anything just pull them all out) so i dont have to re-solder or match anywires up (may be different colors..while i am there i might get the TCU wires also so i dont have to match wires up again.....the tranny mounts already work.. so all i have to worry about is the engine mounts.. i think i am up to the task......i am usually pretty good with this.... i just like to ask questions...thanks for the props... am i missing anything?? im making a list to take to the junk yard with me...so am i missing anything?????? anybody need something from the junk yard???? they had a couple 3rd gens there and a couple 240SX's...maybe a steering wheel for someone???.....they had a couple 300ZX's also... but nothing newer than 1995 i think

Mmm, sounds good man. Good luck. I hope your getting a 5spd after all this work. While the engine is out, I would strap on the UDP mod.

9. do i need new spark plugs for the VE?? (different ones???)

It's a different engine, so different plugs.

12. new disttributor cap???? (or can i use the VG?)

No distributor cap here, as well as ignition wires.

Just get yourself a 95' 300ZX Twin Turbo and be done with it in my opinion.

I just hope that it is as easy as you are expecting... i mean i dont know what all it will take... but i bet there will be a ton of unforseen problems. But you definitely have my respect for trying. Just go and buy internetautomar's car for 600....

It might have a blown head gasket. You should change them while you have the engine out, if that is the problem. seems likely as it wouldnt be 100% obvious and why some one would trash a 70K mile car...

well I hope this swap goes well for you. No one has done this swap before, that I know of. People on this board seem to be scared of new things. You got my props for trying and hope its a breeze for you.

this swap is probably a lot easier than say a honda d to b swap as at least this motor was available in this chassis.
the hardest part is probably going to be maling all the harnesses go where you want them too.

the only reason this swap has been actively discouraged is because it's just cheaper to buy a VE once you figure in time used.
you got lucky and bought it all cheap

The thing with the 7-wires is your power transistor.

See: http://aarc.epnet.com/application/82...Transistor.htm for troubleshooting it. If it's still good, use it! I'm sure you can find a way to get it to stay put somewhere.

go used if you can.
for right now, you want to get it running as cheaply as possible.
then once it's all running start worrying about what needs to be done the right way

Wow man, Good times and good luck. After doing the trany swap and realizing that it was a waste of time and money (its a FWD car for crying out loud) I KNOW I wouldn't attempt this.

Woah, I really didn't communicate the problem. I meant: Its *&%$@ broken, and it also has snow on it.

Its got the 'VE sickness' i.e. it runs like crap (if you can call it running) for no reason at all.

thee's always a reason.
