quick question

So I went to add a little oil to the car today and noticed when I looked at the top of the filler neck and the cap there was some brown gunk built up on it. I was thinking its definitly time for an oil change. but I was wondering what the gunk could be. The car seemingly runs fine so I don't believe its from the Head gasket leaking (plus I'm not losing any coolant). Any ideas?

Probably just a little vaporizied oil and some dirt. If that is how you judge it's time you need a more reliable method, like miles driven or time!!

Ha Ha no its not how I judge it (I usually go by the 3000 mile standard, but its been a few miles past that mark). Cool I didn't think it was anything too major. I'll get the oil changed when I get the new struts and spings on (few weeks).

don't worry about it, just keep changing the oil on time, and you'll be ok. and keep up the oil level. Why are you adding oil, leaks or burning?

It's condensation. Don't worry about it, it's normal in the winter when you drive short distances for errands. Happy holidays.
