Question about door lock problem

I have a 93 and i just got like this security system and everything on it and they said my door locks were not working but they are sending the signal but nothing is moving. Like you can hear the click to lock them or unlock but nothing is moving the door locks. they said it might be the "keyless module" under the dash console and stuff. If anyone knows anymore about this or what I need to get please let me know. Is it possible it can be the control panel on my driver side? Thanks

if you have an SE you shouldn't have keyless entry.

Sounds like you need to re-solder the "door lock timer". A write -up is in the stickies. Most of us have done it.

If you have ever soldered on a circuit board you can do this. I'm not sure where the sticky is anymore but basically:
Take the cover off below the dash.
To the right of the steering column there is a box labeled Door Lock Timer.
Unplug the harness from it and take the screws out that mount it and remove it.
Pull the circuit board out of the plastic box.
Re-solder the circuit board, mainly around where the relay is on the board.
Re-assemble and try it.
If you haven't soldered before take the board to someone who has.

Hi everyone, first post here. 2 days ago I purchased my first Maxima. It's a 92 GXE, loaded and in great condition. 124,000 miles, every option and then some. When I got the car, same deal.. click click click but no movement on the door locks, following the instructions posted by the great members here, I pulled out the timer, and low and behold the connection just as shown in the pictures was cracked, first time soldering a circuit board, worked like a charm on the first try. Now I have working locks, and due to another post I read on here i got my keypad working again. (no, i didnt have to lay upside down un the passenger seat to see the code on the box, just looked up while on my knees outside the car) Anyhow, I am looking forward to digging into my new favorite toy and seeing where it goes. Thanks for the great site and saving me a few bucks already ;-)

Oh, and if anyone else has an issue with reading, just remember.. you have two eyes, one mouth, 2 ears and ten fingers.. use em in that ratio and you'll be fine :-D umm, oh.. only use your fingers that much if you are typing something of substance, for example if you are wire transfering money to me from your bank acct.. then you can type as much as you like :-D

I'd venture to say it isnt a cheap part (what maxima part is) but I bet you can find it at the normal sources, dealership, bone yard, e-bay etc.. or you can just send it to me and I will solder it for ya... honestly it was a piece of cake, i hade mine out, re-soldered and back in and working in less than 30 minutes.

i got the same exact problem that u guys had/have in my '93. but i've been so damn busy and lazy at times and drivin' around in my '89 SE that i haven't been able to fiddle with that crap in my '93 plus i need new rear brakes so i guess i'll be stuck usin' my '89 for at least another week or so.

btw: u'll have lots of fun in here findin' new stuff to play around with. enjoy!

just resoldered mine; the bad connection was in the exact same spot that it was in whoever's write up; solder had cracked and became grainy. works like a charm now. definitely worth the time to remove the underdash, etc.

maybe a 30 minute job...took a few minutes to resolder.

did you just reheat the solder already on the circuit board or did you put a dab on with flux
