OK, the part of the taillight that is red, has been painted black so no light comes through. The white parts turn signals/reverse, center piece bottom was done with Nite shades spray tint, you can see light through those. I have a piece of black adhesive vinyl on the red part of the centerpiece.

sure if you want to do the work to make them fit. I think R34 lights would require a lot more work since the body shape is so different. R33 tails are closer and look good if you do it right. I have seen one that did it and it wasnt as clean as I would like.

Here is an example of R33s done right:

Depending on what I decide to do on my 93 there may be another example. I own the lights but dont know if I am going to sell the car or not and if I do decide to sell it I am definitely not going to do the light swap.

It takes a lot of work to do but if done right it looks great...no offense to swowlink because its just my opinion but the painted over lights just dont compare. The problem is if you cant do the body work yourself then you will spend a small fortune to get them done.

hey, thats Stu's Ride unless he sold it to some other dude. its been awhile since i've seen his ride. as for the tails i also own them with the center piece. pics in my cardomain page. i haven't been able to get them put on my car due to lack of money and also a great reputable bodyshop that is good at modifyin' my rear end or any car of that matter. i personally agree with Michael remarks on this one.

I believe skyline tails belong on nothing but skylines, but to each his own.

yeah if I remember correctly he cut it down to make it fit the 3rd gen.

He did a lot of great body work on the car...most of it a little too radical for my taste (the front bumper ). I liked it when it was blue with the simple stillen kit.

if you are talking about the lights I have them for sale. I posted a price just a few posts up from yours (post #14 in this thread). The price I gave is a pretty good price since they are about $500 new and usually about $200-$300 used.

Also keep in mind like I said it will take a lot of body work...this is not a bolt on thing.

do you have a link to a pic by any chance? lately i've been leaning more and more toward choosing the r34 tails if i ever convert the rear. these cars, if any can get away with it. not some honda or something which has no similarities what so ever to the skyline, or even made by the same company for that matter. r33's may in fact be the best choice. in order to make r34 tails look good, you would have to reshape the quarters.

no I dont have a link...it was just something I ran across.

I just dont know about R34s...they would require so much work. First the R34 has a fender flare that flows onto the tail a little (I am sure you could cut it off of the tail light assy but not sure). Then of course you would have to go into the quarter with it which may not be too big a deal.

THe biggest obsticle is the fact that the top of the tail light goes over the top of the quarter and it too wide and would actually go into the trunk area. you would have to cut the trunk on the top to reshape it and I am not sure how much structure integrity you would lose if you did that.

they do look cool and am sure could be done but its not something I want to attempt.

i have pics of Stu's ride in my cardomain page if u want to take a look at his crazy a$$ front bumper. i think its page 5 or 6 can't remember though. just go to my cardomain and just go through those pages and u'll find all his pics. some of the pics will not work don't know y though but the other pics should be able to work so that u can c them.

R-33's only look good on the 3rd gens. R-34's look even better on 4th gens. i saw a yellow 4th gen that wasn't too crazy with body mods but it looked sweet as hell when i saw the rear with the R-34's. lookin' at it from behind it kinda looks like an actual 4-door skyline. i can't remember where i saw the pics though. i think it was either on the internet or on a magazine.

What paint should I use to black out my center piece? Also that style on the brake lights them selves is awsome. Same Paint? I am going to leave the clear sections undone.

To make it easy on you, Id say just use black adhesive vinyl (Ebay) and cut it to shape.

What are the origins of "stu's" Maxima? Where was it, where is it, owned by an org member? I've seen pics of that car in numerous places.

GRNMAXDMON - whose grey max with the hood vents is that on your site? I had that as my background for a while...It is definitely my favorite 3rd gen I've seen, it looks like a nissan is supposed to look!
