KYB GR2....Opinons?

Okay,

I may be in the market for new shocks and struts seeing that I have well over 100K on my Tokico Blues. On eBay, I see I can get a set of KYB GR2's for right at $200 shipped.

Does anyone here have these, and have any feedback to offer? Can anyone offer a comparison to the Tokicos?

Thanks

Yeah, but the place where I bought mine has been acquired by another company, and does not have record of my purchase so I'm having trouble getting warranty replacement.

well you are a donating org member search for reviews and opinions.

if you filled out the warranty card with tokico then you shouldnt have a problem...but otherwise youll just have to buy new.

I heard just the opposite, but if I have the money, I want Konis.

The GR2's are nothing special. I had them on my old max. They are basically just stock replacements made by KYB. KYB AGX's are better, dunno if they make them for our cars though.

I have KYBs and there ok for everyday use, but if your into handling and performance i would go with Konis, and also if you would like to drop your max i heard that the KYBs dont last long at all with lowering springs

Tokicos have the same problems when using lowering springs, though they will last longer than KYBs

www.shox.com has about the cheapest prices around for Konis. Supposedly internetautomar gets his stock through them, but his prices are a little more. At one time there was a discussion about him trying to get a cheaper rate than shox.com

I believe there is a vendor in the group deals section who sells Konis for $475 shipped.

I wonder if he can get better deal on the Koni/Eibach kit $695 is good, but the more money I can save the better.

I had KYB GR-2's w/ SE springs in my 93 GXE and really liked them a lot. I don't have anything else to compare it to, but for a daily driver it handled pretty well and was still pretty comfortable.

If you REALLY want handling, trade in your max for an e30 (87-91) BMW 3-series. They are about the same price point as a 3rd gen these days and offere excellent handling and great aftermarket options as well. Since my max died in august, I am looking for an e30 replacement.

A 92-94 SE can handle just as good in stock form and it's faster. Just because the Bimmer is RWD, doesn't automatically mean it will handle better.

Not only tokico has lifetime warranty, koni and KYB both come with lifetime warranty also. My friend has KYB GR2s on his car and I think they're pretty decent, you feel every single bump on the road but what can I say...they're a bit stiffer. I would like Tokico or Koni but at this point I dont think I have the funds and dont know if its worth puttin in my car so my decision is GR2s, hell I been thinking about just gettin Monroes and keep it a smooth ride but I'm afraid they wont adapt to my driving.
