Need maxine to start HELP....
hi org its been a long time. i am no longer a maxim owner but i did sell the max to a family member that is now having problems.when i had the car, it used to cut off at random or start bucking when i turn corners.it'll start right back up after it cut off.since he has had the car, the car was doing the same thing ,then one day it cut off but would not start back up. changed the fuel pump at random and it fired right up. now it started bucking again and cut off, but it wont start again. we pulled the fuel filter to check for gas and its squirting out at full blast.its a 92 ve. please give me some leads. the coilpacks that had cracks were wrapped with electrical tape. i thinking the car has no spark at all, but can you all point me in the right direction. thanks.

did you check the ECU for codes?
look in the stickies and there is information about the various codes.
to check the ECU, turn the key to the "ON" position. Then turn the little screw on the ECU clockwise, wait for 2 seconds, then turn it back counter clockwise . Then the red light will flash in 2 sequences. Slow flashes indicate the first digit of the number, Fast flashes will indicate the 2nd digit of the number. Say it goes "flash....flash....flash...........flash.flash.fla sh....." That would be a code 33 which is o2 senor. If there are no codes in the ECU it would read 55. Turn the screw counter clockwise, hold it then turn it back to the original position. (cut and pasted from that thread)
Without having a code, it is tough to say what it is. Sometims problems won't even throw a code.

I had a similar problem with my '89 Max and it ended up being a corroded battery cable end. It happened at random due to the fact that the cable had to shift a certain way to lose contact with the positive battery post. It was hard to pinpoint because of that.
