Dude, thats nice but my maxima pulls around the same and its a VG..and yes I can get a vid for you if you want...it wont go past 125-130 as the SE gauges are different from the GXE...well I kinda swapped the 89-92 SE into my GXE so its still 125mph and the o/d is covered by speedo.. the last time I did 125...i got pulled over the next day for doing 44 on a 30...lucky it wasnt when I was doing 125 lol

are you saying that a bone stock 3rd gen can't go 120? my lightly modded max can hit 130 easily wth plenty more to go. were you flooring it in the videos? b/c it seems like the engine was laboring pretty hard with out getting any faster. and one more thing if your gonna go that fast i'd have someone else video and don't go too much over the speed rating on the tire, they are rated for a reason.

I've had my parents minivan up to 120 MPH...top speed ain't a thing; it's called gearing. How fast you get to 120 is the challenge. Your auto seems to be quick though..props.

As Gov. Ventura said
there is a law on how fast I can go, but not how fast I get there

I like the vids ... but dude driving over 100mph in the rain is stupid ... if you had to brake, do you think youd be able to stop ? .. rubber and rain dont mix, ESPECIALLY not over 100mph

Nice, makes me miss my VE, and its sweet motor sound....but that is about as fast as my VG with I/Y/E it seems like or at least past 75.
My old VE with I/Y/E/UDP, really moved past 85. You need to buy some of my parts and swap a 5 speed , then you will have some real fun. My VE hit 143 on a normal street pretty quickly and that needle just buried. Only I ran out of road and came to a light...
Teenage testosterone makes us a little reckless, thank god my 240 has a 115 limiter...for now.

Ah yes...100mph+ on normal roads..havent had that pleasure yet, dont think I should though since I'm under 4 months of court supervision (yes my record is perfectly clean unless I screw in 4 months)...the most I did on my old 88 Accord was 90 and probably 100 or so on the Maximam but not on a daily basis..only if I'm in a hurry or if I gotta pee

The vids were cool but you really NEED a 5spd and a VI to get the most out of a VE.

I am running a VE 5spd w/

- Fidanza / Exedy
- Warpspeed Y-Pipe
- UDP
- CAI
- Blehmco ground wire kit
- excellent condition VTCs
- ~17.5 lbs wheels

Believe me, there is no comparison b/t what I listed and your video. My 65 - 95 is substantially faster than what you posted and my car really moves after 85.

I am not trying to be a jerk. I am trying to let you know what is possible. Keep up the good work.

did i ask for negative crap.. no i didnt.. thanks

anyways... i know it was stupid to do this in the rain, but i realized that AFTER I GOT DONE... as for stopping in the rain, i know its not good to stop fast in the rain....

this is correct.. a good way to get an adrenaline rush.. and yes i am a stupid teenager that sometimes does stupid things,, but in the 120MPH video, there was no one on the highway and it was past deptford..i just wanted to prove this to a couple people that i know that my car kicks ***.....if i took a pic they wqould hacve said i photochopped it

yeah i really do need a 5 speed.... that will be the project when the tranny goes.. my VTC's make no clicking sounds at all (motor has 69k on it)so they must be good

i also thought the VE could have gottten up to speed a little faster... the pedal was floored, so there may be something holding back power maybe?

A lot of it is the transmission. 3 forward gears instead of five. IIRC, the 1/4 mile numbers for a VE auto and VG 5spd are pretty close.

I have been reading about the new Mercedes that are using a 7 speed automatic. The new S500 (might be sl500) makes less horsepower than its predecessor and, IIRC, it is heavier. But it is faster. All in the gearing.

Also, if you got a VE donor from an auto drivetrain, it doesn't have a variable intake. That makes a nice difference in power as well. If you don't have it, you can swap it on fairly easily.

And in the words of Matt Blehm, "the VE is a high string bitch". They are many things on it that go bad and cause you to have issues. Coil packs, fuel injectors, TPS, CTS, MAF, O2 sensor, bad grounds, CPS, general wiring harness corrision... You just have to keep troubleshooting until you figure it out.
